Philadelphia Ballet

Summary
Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Philadelphia Ballet Marketing and Sales Manager manages many operations of the marketing department. Responsible for marketing campaigns across all company activities, this position will manage and execute the implementation of advertising, promotions, and patron engagement strategies. General support for special events and performances, closely aligning with development, education and public programs, fundraising functions, other departments, and assorted branding activities is expected and is performed in cooperation with other department heads. The scope of work includes the marketing performance tracking and analysis.
In collaboration with the Director of Marketing and advancement staff, as well as with other internal departments, the Marketing and Sales Manager coordinates all activities that promote and sell each of the ballets and subscription offerings, build the brand of the Ballet as a whole, and ensure that the marketing, promotion, and communications needs of the whole organization are executed timely and effectively. This can entail a wide variety of secondary tasks, from project management to patron services and beyond.
Essential Functions
   » Working with the MD, develop overall patron revenue strategies, priorities, and results; develop overall marketing and communications plans for all Ballet activities. Assist in developing an integrated department annual plan, setting out objectives, and specific activities to be pursued in each area of responsibility.
   » Working with the MD and Advancement Department, ensure consistent and continuing delivery of branding and messaging in all media.
   » Develop and maintain strong, productive, and collaborative relationships with other departments and with consultants, vendors and other partners.
   » Provide continuing analysis and research on the performance of marketing campaigns and patron engagement.
   » Ensure that paid media and promotional activities are tracked and analyzed.
   » Maintain and populate planning documents, request forms, and project management tools.
   » Working with the MD, manage and supervise the development of departmental budgets and forecasts and ensure that they are tracked and adjusted regularly.
   » Act as point of contact and occasional project manager with external vendors and agencies in digital advertising, web and email services, ticketing and patron services, CMS database services.
   » Maintain expertise of and strategize the most effective use of the organization's data sources, including website analytics, Tessitura patron data, partner databases, social media analytics, and patron surveys.
   » Other tasks as assigned.

Expected Hours of Work
Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Evening and weekend work will be required as job tasks demand.
Travel
Travel is primarily locally during the business day, although some out of the area travel and overnight may be expected.
Required Education & practice
   » Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field or similar significant work practice
   » 4 to5 years progressively responsible practice
   » Demonstrated progressive practice in marketing management, preferably within the non-profit arts industry.
   » Demonstrated practice managing staff and outsourced vendors through complex campaigns and projects
   » Demonstrated practice managing digital, social, and traditional advertising campaigns
   » Solid expertise of website, marketing analytics and CMS tools
   » expertise of and practice using Tessitura
   » Proficient in marketing research and statistical analysis
