Job detail
We seek an organized, collaborative, and creative Production Manager who will manage and supervise all aspects of the Production Department. This is a leadership abilities function responsible for making sure all aspects of production proceed smoothly from pre-production to post-production including, but not limited to, creating and monitoring budgets, managing crew calls, scheduling and logistics to ensure sets are loaded in and struck safely and on time. The Production Manager will be expected to demonstrate strong management and leadership abilities expertise, diligent budget tracking expertise, a collaborative attitude with artistic staff, and will be required to multi-task, meet deadlines, exercise independent judgment, and problem-solve. We are a small, collaborative team and the Production Manager should expect to also support the production needs of other departments (Education, Development, and Marketing) as needed. This position is supervised by and reports directly to the General Manager.
functionS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Production Manager performs the following tasks:
   » Manages the production department.
   » Collaborates with Designers, Directors, the Producing Directors, Technical Director, and department heads to ensure the prosperous execution of all productions
   » Manages and monitors production expenses
   » Hires and supervises production staff (through IATSE Local 8)
   » Maintains relationships with vendors and contractors
   » Ensures all productions comply with safety regulations and standards
practice AND QUALIFICATIONS
The desired practice and qualifications for this position include:
   » At least 3 years of demonstrated success in production management or related position.
   » Strong leadership abilities and management expertise
   » Strong collaboration expertise.
   » capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
   » expertise of theatrical production processes and procedures
   » Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
