Our faculty have a diverse research/scholarship background and areas of research/scholarship are focused on:
   »Achieving Health Equity (improving health behaviors, reducing health disparities, clinical management of chronic conditions, quality of life across lifespan, nursing interventions for the vulnerable, health equity for the LGBTQ, building a culture of health for urban children and families, equitable healthcare policies).
   »Cardiovascular Care (promoting self-management, technology-assisted care, avoidance, and risk assessment).
   »Educational Research (educational strategies to retain minority students, building nursing workforce, accelerated nursing education, diversity in higher education, simulation in education).
   »Community Health Research (maternal health, grandparenting, lactation support, health disparities).

The Loewenberg College of Nursing (LCON) invites applications for four (4) Tenure Track/Tenured adjunct/Associate/Full Professor faculty positions for a nine-month appointment. Well-qualified candidates will be practiced and committed to teaching, research/scholarship, and service. Rank and income will be commensurate with the candidate's practice and qualifications. LCON offers a competitive income, benefits, and moving allowance. Summer research grants, start-up funds, and a reduced teaching load may be available.

Minimum Position Appropriate qualifications: 1. Earned doctoral degree from an accredited school in Nursing or related field.
2. Unencumbered license or eligibility for Tennessee RN/APRN license at the time of application; RN/APRN license in TN is required by the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications
   » Candidates eligible to hold Associate Professor or Full Professor rank.
   » Background of teaching community health and or psychiatric and mental health nursing.
   » Background of teaching, scholarship, and mentoring at the PhD level.
   » Evidence of externally funded research.
Special Conditions: Tenure track faculty have teaching, research and scholarship, and service expectations. The primary teaching responsibilities will be assigned across undergraduate and graduate nursing programs to meet the LCON's needs and include student advising. A clear direction for research and scholarly activity is required. Tenure track faculty are expected to engage in professional and community service and outreach as well as contribute to continuing program evaluation and improvement. prosperous candidates will be expected to relocate to Memphis and maintain a campus presence as part of the College of Nursing faculty. candidates for these positions should demonstrate the potential for high-quality teaching and a sponsored program of research.
