Min Hourly Rate $14.20 (Standard); $13.20 (Non-Urban); $15.45 (Portland Metro) Max Hourly Rate $21.00 (Standard); $18.50 (Non-Urban); $21.50 (Portland Metro) Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week during academic terms, up to 40 hours per week during term breaks) Student Technical adjunct position for the Department of Forest Ecosystems and Society at Oregon State University (OSU). This position will assist with several research projects currently underway in the laboratory and greenhouse. This position is anticipated to run through the end of 2024 with potential to be extended beyond that date. Position tasks 100% Work under the supervision of a research associate conducting a variety of tasks necessary to the functions of the laboratory, greenhouse, and field research. For some positions, practice in plasmid cloning is essential (see preferred qualifications below) tasks vary depending on project needs and may include plant tissue culture (propagation, subculture, and transformation using agrobacterium), basic molecular biology, using computer software, collecting data, entering data, preparing media, washing dishes, watering plants, pest management, and other tasks as needed. The majority of work will be performed in the laboratory, but incumbents must be willing to assist in the greenhouse and with outdoor field activities if needed.
