Job Summary This recruitment will be used to fill two full-time Accounting Technician: Finance adjunct positions for the the Office for Sponsored Research and Award Administration at Oregon State University (OSU).

The Office for Sponsored Research and Award Administration (OSRAA) resides within the Research Office. Its mission is to provide research administration leadership abilities, achieved through the full grant ?lifecycle? by supporting proposal submission, award negotiation and acceptance, research costing and analysis, award management, financial management and the closeout of awards that support Oregon State University's continuous search for new expertise and solutions in the three signature areas outlined in OSU's Strategic Plan.

The OSRAA Finance adjunct will be responsible for supporting various aspects of the OSRAA finance team's workflow, communication, and documentation needs. Additionally, this position will provide administrative and quality assurance support to ensure the accurate and efficient processing of award, financial, and closeout activities for grants and contracts. The position works closely with the functional teams within the OSRAA Financial Management unit and campus personnel involved in award financial management within Financial Strategic Services (FSS), college, centers, and departments. Regular correspondence is required with researchers, university administrators, and external agency officials.

Key Responsibilities 65% Finance Team Support
   » Perform quality assurance review of Principal Investigator (PI) Letters, sponsored agreements, and other award documents to ensure consistency and verify workflow elements match.
   » Assist with data entry and criteria modification in Banner FIS.
   » Establish deliverable events in Banner for grant billing and reporting.
   » Populate Billing Sheets for new grants with information pulled from PI letter and agreement.
   » Review expenditures on unallowable account codes and assist the finance team with contacting faculty and staff for justification or removal.
   » Pull financial and other backup for invoices, financial reports, audits, or other needs.
   » Assist with reconciling information in and between systems used by the Division of Research & Innovation.

30% Communications and Documentation Support
   » Monitor shared email, responding to administrative and informational requests, and dispersing more technical emails to appropriate OSRAA team folders.
   » Send closeout notifications to principal investigators and FSS Accountants and manage replies, ensuring appropriate routing and/or action on all communications.
   » Assist Student Employees as needed with emailing invoices to sponsors and filing invoices/notices in OnBase.
   » Assist Student Employees as needed with compiling proposal and award documentation in Cayuse and OnBase.
   » Send out emails to gather information required for non-financial reporting, including but not limited to requests for patent, equipment, fabrication and Small Business Administration information from faculty, FSS and unit staff, Fixed Asset Office, and OSU Advantage Team.

5% Other tasks as assigned by the Director of Sponsored Programs, Financial Management and OSRAA Managers.

What We Require
12 quarter hours (8 semester hours) of Accounting courses AND one of the following: An Associates Degree in Accounting; OR One year of practice that includes entering, compiling and/or reporting financial information; OR An equivalent combination of education and practice. Transcripts must be submitted for all required and/or related courses. All courses must be from accredited colleges, universities, or private vocational schools.
