Posting DetailsPosition InformationPosting Number: 20112867 Position Title: Coordinator, First Year Math practice, MATH FTE: 1.00 Employment type: Staff Department: Mathematics Position Summary Information Job Summary/Basic Function: About the function: The Coordinator of First Year Math practice reports directly to the chair of the Mathematics department. The Coordinator will be crucial to student success in first-year mathematics courses both in their function in the tutoring lab and in their maintenance of student records and data analysis of the efficacy of tutoring and other programs. What You'll Do - Position tasks » supervise the student adjuncts who work as tutors in the Math Shop, including generating and monitoring the schedule, and providing trainings and assessments. » Coordinate admission documents between department and graduate school; prepare all needed documents for employment of student workers and graduate students; support graduate students approaching graduation and process all EPAFs for faculty and instructors. » Track student usage of the Math Shop, including generating data, reports, and analysis of usage. » Greet and direct students entering the Math Shop for tutoring, including ensuring their needs are met. » Coordinate the general maintenance of office equipment and facilities as necessary, including requesting supplies and equipment for the Math Shop. » Coordinate with chair and scholarship committee about student data for scholarships and awards. Physical Requirements: » Able to lift 25 lbs and be able to execute a variety of physical tasks including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, stair climbing and walking between buildings.
