Employment Category Seasonal Job Summary This recruitment will be used to fill two full-time, seasonal (April - September) Biological Science Research Technician 1 positions for the Eastern Oregon Agricultural Research Center - Burns Experiment Station at Oregon State University (OSU). These positions will be located in Burns, Oregon. This position exists to assist the principal investigator with beef cattle research. The incumbent will be responsible for cattle checking, handling and feeding, sample collections, prepping and storing samples and eventually running sample analysis. What You Will Need Two years of college-level courses in animal sciences, biology, or a related discipline; OR an equivalent combination of training and practice. This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must prosperously complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months. Working Conditions / Work Schedule This position requires working with large animals (cattle) and capability to frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
