Posting Details (Default Section)Posting Number:: 20243976S Position Title:: Custodian (Day Shift) Employment type:: Staff Job location:: Villanova, PA Recruitment Type:: Internal/External candidates Work Schedule:: full-time/12-months Avg Hours Week: Department:: 809-Custodial Services Position Summary:: Under the moderate direction of a manager, performs general cleaning tasks within dormitories, offices and other public facilities areas. tasks and Job responsibilities:: * Picks up and disposes of trash, to include the proper handling of recyclable materials. * Operates and maintains automated and powered equipment such as: 1) Buffers and/or other automatic floor care equipment. 2) Carpet cleaning equipment. 3) Wall washing equipment. * Scrubs, strips, seals and/or finishes floors. * Removes snow and ice and cleans and/or picks up debris, such as leaves and paper, around entrances and fire exits (including fire escapes), and from the steps and walkways (generally distances of ten feet or less) leading to buildings. Minimum Appropriate qualifications:: H.S. Diploma or equivalent capability to follow both written and oral directions. capability to interact with customers(students, faculty, administration), co-workers and managers in a positive and valuable manner. Must be able to climb ladders, to bend and reach, and to lift(up to 60 lbs.) Preferred Appropriate qualifications:: » 1 to 3 years of practice preferred.
