Water Corps provides environmental services and outreach to organizations within and external to ECU in the ENC region. The types of work undertaken by WaterCorps range from water quality sampling and analysis to designing educational activities and communication materials. tasks of the Manager will include: - Supervision, scheduling, training, and mentoring of students in a strong team environment - Facilitating coordination between students, faculty, and external partners - Evaluating work processes and products; reporting to leadership abilities - Maintaining program and data records - Technical contributions and support for projects as needed and/or as background allows - Additional tasks as assigned Essential expertise that this position requires include: - Strong organizational expertise - capability to form plans, work independently, and receive feedback in a positive manner - A strong sense of personal responsibility - A personal growth mindset that is extended to helping others grow in an environment with a wide variety of backgrounds - practice in leadership abilities and/or organizational functions - A STEM background and graduate student standing is strongly preferred, but not required candidates should have an interest in environmental issues and sustaincapability in eastern North Carolina as well as a strong sense of interdisciplinary curiosity. Interested candidates for the position require two references. The position is anticipated to be 20 hours of work per week.
