Villanova is a Carnegie-classified doctoral university and the Mechanical Engineering faculty are internationally recognized for their research and teaching. Position Summary:: The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Villanova University has an opening for a full-time non-tenure-track teaching faculty position. Candidates will be considered for an adjunct or Associate Teaching Professor rank commensurate with their education and practice. This is an academic year appointment, renewable subject to enrollment needs, availcapability of funding, and performance. The prosperous candidate will teach undergraduate courses in mechanical engineering design. The appointment begins in August 2024.

tasks and Job responsibilities:: The responsibilities include serving as the primary instructor and course coordinator for our senior capstone design course sequence, teaching an exciting and significant design-located class to accompany the capstone practice, enhancing the capstone design practice by attracting industry driven projects, teaching design-located classes, and working with other faculty to integrate design content all over our curriculum. Other responsibilities include mentoring and advising undergraduate students, service to the department and college, and developing new pedagogical methods.

Minimum Appropriate qualifications::
   » A Ph.D. or MS in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related field) is preferred and practical design practice such as in industry or a national lab is highly desirable.
   » Excellent communication and interpersonal expertise are a prerequisite.
Preferred Appropriate qualifications::
   » Previous teaching practice is preferred.
