Job Description ECU Department of Student Involvement & leadership abilities is currently seeking several Federal Work Study Central Reservations Office Student adjunct/Customer Service Specialists. The Customer Service Specialist is a part-time position with clerical responsibilities that work with and support the functions of the Student Centers within the Central Reservations Office. Customer service specialists are directly supervised by professional staff within the Department of Student Involvement and leadership abilities.

The Customer Service Specialists are expected to fulfill the following general functions and Job responsibilities:

• Administrator: complete all necessary paperwork, forms, maintain logs and tasks as required, attend scheduled shifts and know the staff manual protocols
• Customer Service: acknowledging and greeting students, staff, faculty and University guests, know campus resources and departmental functions to work with faculty, staff, students and guest of the University to connect each to resources as appropriate and assisting with navigating through campus and keep manager informed, help create a welcoming environment.
• Clerical Aid: to be able to file records, maintain records and logs, answer telephone calls and relay messages to the appropriate contact, be able to operate common office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, calculators, fax, etc.
• Security: provide for the safety of patrons during events, enforce facility policies and capacity, theft deterrent, expertiseable of emergency evacuation and lock down procedures.
• Team Member: attend all training sessions, support staff team and help when needed, maintain positive communication with staff and all SIL employees
• University Representative: serve as a positive function model, serve the needs of students, staff, faculty, and University guests, be mindful of social media tags/posts and represent SIL and ECU positively.

Preferred (Majors, practice, GPA, etc.) candidates should be enrolled as a student and be in good academic standing with East Carolina University, as well as local, state, and federal laws. Additionally, candidates must possess a minimum cumulative GPA of a 2.5.

Special Instructions to Applicant **To be eligible for FEDERAL WORK STUDY positions, students MUST BE QUALIFIED and RECEIVE a FEDERAL WORK STUDY AWARD from the ECU Financial Aid Office (Old Cafeteria Complex, 252-328-6610.) FEDERAL WORK STUDY STUDENTS MAY WORK UP TO A MAXIMUM OF 25 HOURS A WEEK DURING THE AUTHORIZED WORK PERIOD.
