Primary Function of Organizational Unit The Office of Online Learning, Academic Outreach, and Academic Innovation is a multifaceted office within the university engaging with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. The office respects, understands and responds to the unique demands of all types of learners and is committed to ensuring access, engagement, and success for those learners. The office supports the university in its leadership abilities function in the areas of distance and technology enhanced learning, both in our region and beyond. The educational and economic development of the citizens of its service area is a focal point for the office. The office conducts its activities in partnership with all units of the university and encompasses distance and online education, National Council State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements, Experiential Learning Inventory (ELI), the ECU Proctoring Center, the Testing Center, and Military Outreach. Additionally, the office serves as the centerpiece of ECU's Collaborative for Online Learning, a campus-wide network of services and supports that provide points of access and engagement for both students and faculty in the online learning space with the stated end goal of ensuring success of all in the university online ecosystem.

Job tasks The position is a part-time temporary position (October 16, 2024 - April 15, 2025 (Duration will be 6 months - from date of hire)

All states have specific and unique requirements concerning the permission of out of state universities to offer distance education courses and program. These requirements vary by state and are in a constant state of flux as states adjust and modify their requirements. This position is responsible for knowing the distance education programs and courses offered by ECU, knowing the requirements of the states, knowing our enrollments in the states, and after consulting with ECU leadership abilities, working to ensure that ECU is compliant in all (required) states. This requires researching and analyze each state's applicable laws and requirements This position will focus on creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for State Authorization and Reciprocity Compliance, leveraging skills from previous tasks. These SOPs will help ensure continuity of operations, so ECU maintains its compliance for delivery of online courses.

tasks will include to create Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for State Authorization and Reciprocity Compliance for the institution located on skills of previous tasks. The SOP's will ensure efficiency, consistency, and compliance in their operation. SOP's will be completed on the following processes NC- SARA Renewal Application, Professional Licensure Inventory and Professional Licensure Map updates, SARA/ELI Annual reporting processes, Implementation and Updates for SARA and DOE changes, Processes and Procedures for updating the Compliance and State Authorization Websites, Processes for data retrieval of student location, stakeholders list for communication and updates, reports, professional licensure programs and coordinators, policy on compliance.

These SOPs are of high importance for the scope of the State Authorization and Compliance position. The SOP's will provide standardized guidelines that help maintain consistent performance across tasks. Well-defined SOPs streamline processes, allowing employees to complete tasks more quickly and effectively. They serve as checklists that guide workers through their responsibilities, reducing the time spent figuring out how to execute tasks. This increased efficiency not only boosts productivity but also allows organizations to set clear performance benchmarks. These SOP's play a vital function in preserving organizational expertise. They document processes and best practices, ensuring that crucial information is not lost when employees leave or take time off. This documentation helps new hires and current employees to quickly acclimate to their functions/tasks and allows existing employees to maintain productivity during transitions. The implementation of SOPs for this position will serve as valuable training tools, simplifying the onboarding process for new employees. They provide clear instructions and expectations, making Information technology easier for new hires to understand their functions and responsibilities. This clarity reduces training time and enhances the overall learning practice.

This position is contingent upon available funding.

Minimum Education/practice Bachelor's degree and one year of practice related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and practice. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions .

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation N/A
