Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) KBVR-TV Live Producer position for the Orange Media Network (OMN) at Oregon State University (OSU).

The KBVR-TV Locals Live Producer is responsible for coordinating and producing weekly TV broadcast of the music show, Locals Live, for KBVR-TV. This includes TV shows broadcast on channel 26 and online, and the uploading of full episodes and online exclusive content to KBVR's online platforms, including YouTube.

Position tasks KBVR-TV Locals Live Producer Responsibilities
   » Create and supervise content for television series, Locals Live, that airs six (6) times per term during academic year. Shows are a maximum of 30 minutes. Exact dates to be determined by TV Station Manager
   » Shows will air live or recorded live-to-tape
   » Work with station manager to coordinate with bands, musicians, and other musical artists to appear as performers on this weekly music TV show
   » Be inclusive in the diversity of artists appearing on the show, paying special attention to ensure we are uplifting diverse voices
   » Coordinate with station manager, student engineers and OMN professional staff in the setup and coordination of these live musical performances to ensure a shared use of OMN facilities
   » Ensure all artists sign and return a performance agreement prior to the performance. The agreement will cover rules and policies about FCC, lyrics, conduct, arrival times and other rules.
   » Ensure all shows are properly staffed with dedicated volunteer crew members (director, TD, cameras, audio, etc.). Ensure volunteers are trained on equipment before the day of the show.
   » Work to ensure all crew members are given equal opportunities to grow, learn, and try out new crew positions. A producer creates the vision for the show, but Information technology must be executed by a crew. A prosperous producer will not take on responsibilities that should be done by crew (hosting, directing, etc)
   » Build a detailed rundown for each episode, and share rundown with the crew and station manager 3 days in advance of shoot
   » When live show is completed, optimize show for YouTube and upload to KBVR-TV YouTube page within 24 hours and properly label Information technology with appropriate title, description, tags, and cover image
   » After every show, hold a show meeting with crew specifically to watch the episode and engage in feedback and critique.
   » Responsible for ensuring all videos (both broadcast and online) have complete and accurate captioning. Provide full scripts lyrics, transcripts and prep material to station manager no later than 24 hours before airtime to ensure live captioners can review and ensure accuracy
   » Share links to full episodes on YouTube immediately following the broadcast
   » Other tasks as assigned by the adviser
Communication
   » Respond to emails, messages and phone calls the same day, professionally representing OMN
   » Notify adviser immediately should any ethical, legal, personnel or controversial problems occur Collaboration
   » Hold and post regular office hours each week for Orange Media Network, at least half of which should be during regular business hours (8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday - Friday). Hours may vary during different stages of the term
   » Follow all OMN policies and procedures and hold all staff and volunteers to them as well
   » Act professionally

   » Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
   » Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
   » Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
   » High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
   » Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
   » Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
   » Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
   » Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered ?full-time? by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

   » expertiseable of legal regulations and ethical principles guiding television and video
   » expertiseable of video editing software
   » Is a strong communicator and comfortable with public speaking
   » Is organized and reliable
   » Is comfortable giving and receiving feedback
   » Able to remain professional and calm when working with difficult individuals and situations
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
   » Has previously been a paid staff member or crew member of KBVR-TV. Locals Live practice is a plus.
   » Previous practice with music production
   » Prior attendance and participation in OMN training Camp
