Listing description
The mission of Northwest Public Broadcasting (NWPB) is to be a trusted source of quality content. We are dedicated to enriching our community by sharing and creating distinctive programs which engage, enlighten, and entertain.
NWPB reaches more than 3.6 million people in 44 counties all over Washington state and parts of Oregon, Idaho, and British Columbia. Approximately half of the population reached receives public radio broadcast signals exclusively through NWPB.
As the Director of Development 2 or 3, you will be responsible for supporting Northwest Public Broadcasting's fundraising goals by planning and conducting outreach designed to promote constituent knowledge ofNWPBactivities with the aim of cultivating donors and raising money.
As a Development Director 2, you will manage a portfolio of approximately 150 donors, close 5 to 15 major gift pledges, open/plan a minimum of 15 solicitations, and have an annual fundraising goal between $250,000 and $750,000.
As a Development Director 3, you will manage a portfolio of approximately 125 - 150 donors, close 12 to 16 major gift pledges, open/plan a minimum of 20 solicitations, and have an annual fundraising goal between $750,000 and $1,500,000. A Director of Development 3 closes a third of major gifts at $50,000 or higher.
broad travel in Washington State, the Pacific Northwest, and elsewhere in the course of developing relationships with donors, community partners, and businesses is expected.This position is required to work evenings and weekends when necessary.
Remote/hybrid opportunity may be available for candidates in Eastern Washington.

Required Qualifications for Director of Development 2:
Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of progressively responsible significant practice, which includes one year (1) of full-time fundraising practice of prosperous face-to-face gift solicitation of $50,000 or more, or equivalent practice; equivalent practice includes practice in sales; marketing; public relations; and/or advancement practice which has involved direct face-to-face contact with clients, customers, prospective customers and members of the public. A Master's degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required practice.
Required Qualifications for Director of Development 3:
Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of progressively responsible significant practice, which includes two (2) years of full-time fundraising practice, demonstrated success in proposal writing and submission, evidence of capability to plan and execute a fund drive (i.e. responsibility for a project from conception to realization), demonstrated success in face-to-face solicitations of gifts of $50,000 or more, OR comparable practice. Comparable practice includes progressively responsible full-time consultative sales in real estate, industrial equipment, vehicles, custom services, or bulk commodities, which include long term relationships between salespeople and clients, which includes negotiating the terms and conditions of individual sales with customers, program oversight and management, clearly defined goals and objectives, and a demonstrated track record of sales success. A Master's degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required practice.

Monthly income:
   » Director of Development 2: $4,942.10 - $6,584.26
   » Director of Development 3: $5,485.73 - $7,083.33
In conformity with RCW 49.58.110, the above income reflects the full income range for this position. Individual placement within the range is located on the candidate's current practice, education, expertise, and abilities related to the position. prosperous candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the income range.
