Job Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time, intermittent (approximately 10 hours per week as needed) Education Program adjunct 2 position for the Division of Extension and Engagement's Partnerships Unit-Native American & Tribal Programs.

This Education Program adjunct 2 (EPA) is a member of the OSU Division of Extension and Engagement's Partnerships Unit which includes Juntos, Open Campus, and Native American & Tribal Programs. This intermittent EPA position is supervised by the Director of Native American & Tribal Program (Director).

This EPA assists and collaboratives with the Director to meet the needs and bring consciousness of the Native American/Alaska Native communities in Oregon. This position assists the Director with providing culturally responsive programming and outreach services to engage Native American/Alaska Native students and families.

There are a variety of Tribal and Native American/Alaska Native entities, communities, and governments and educational partnerships that the Director will need to develop strong collaborative relationships with, both within OSU and statewide entities to co-create culturally-significant programming to serve the needs of Native American/Alaska Native and Tribal communities statewide. This EPA will assist the Director with the designing, developing, and delivering of programming and outreach activities which includes complying with Civil Rights and Language/Visual Access regulations.

OSU Partnerships Unit works in collaboration with Oregon State University, the Association of Oregon Counties, Oregon's Community Colleges, regional economic development groups, the K-12 education systems, the business communities and local government. The goal of OSU Partnerships Unit is to provide community and economic development, career and college access, and degree completion/support.

Key Responsibilities 50% - Program Implementation and Delivery
   » Collaborates with the Director to determine program goals, objectives, and strategies for spreading consciousness of Native American and Tribal cultural norms. Delivers non-credit educational programs and outreach services. Conducts educational presentations at schools, fairs and community events.
   » Provides classroom management practices as necessary.
   » Collaborates with Director to implement strategies/interventions in the school/community environment to support and encourage consciousness of Native Americans culture.
   » Provides recommendations to Director about best ways to engage audiences to lgain Native American community cultural norms.
   » Provides trainings to students and other community member with approved curriculums.

35% - Planning, Preparing, and Evaluating
   » Collaborates with the Director to independently identify and engage local partners and stakeholders in community assessment, program design, implementation and evaluation of programs.
   » Assists the Director with the development of non-credit education programs and initiates changes to programs as needed.
   » Verifies group/class set up and topics/lessons with site contact and assists in preparation and ordering of instructional supplies needed for classes. Assists with the coordination and training of community and program volunteers. Assists in assembling materials needed for classes and other education activities.
   » Participates in evaluation of program and outreach activities effectiveness.
   » Engages with community partners, volunteers and community members in the delivery of Native American and Tribal programming and outreach activities.
   » Engages community partners, volunteers and community members in a culturally responsive manner.
   » Assists Director with summarizing outputs and impacts of efforts to promote inclusive programming and outreach services and including these efforts in quarterly/annual program reports.
   » Assists Director with promoting Native American programming and outreach services, including creating content for the unit's website.
   » Develops and maintains educational content for displays and exhibits.
   » Utilizes technology as a tool to increase the reach and impact of program delivery.
   » Follows OSU and division brand guidelines, digital publishing standards and digital contact management data integrity practices for programmatic communications, marketing and engagement.

5% - Continuous Improvement
   » Makes recommendations for programming updates and improvements.
   » Identifies modifications required for equitable access to programming and culturally responsive practices.

5% - Program Records
   » Record-keeping - Maintains class, meeting, and assessment records, attendance records, evaluation data, paperwork; verifies for accuracy; submits all required records upon completion of classes, meetings, and assessments for state and federal reporting; submits quarterly success stories -?Stories from the Field?; reports activities and their impacts into the Extension's reporting system, coordinating with the Director; provides other data/statistical information/records as requested.

5% - Meetings & Trainingsand Other tasks
   » Attends scheduled Partnerships Unit meetings and trainings.
   » Attends training opportunities to build basic knowledge and consistent expertise to use digital communications, marketing and engagement technologies significant to position tasks.

What We Require
Associate's Degree and three years of work practice (paid or volunteer) supporting community programs that serve children, youth or adults OR Bachelor's Degree and one year of work practice (paid or volunteer) one year of which must be working in youth development programs, adult education, teaching, program delivery or related functions OR Five years practice in a field related to the tasks of the position AND a high school diploma or equivalent. AND Demonstrated oral and written communication expertise. Demonstrated skill to work with diverse audiences. Demonstrated skill to use computers for word processing, data management, and communications.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must prosperously complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Working Conditions / Work Schedule The primary work location for this position is the OSU Partnerships office in Ballard Extension Hall on OSU's campus in Corvallis, Oregon. However, flexible work may be established via OSU's Flexible Work Arrangement Agreement Form , with pre-determined periodic reviews of on-going work for continuation of the agreement.

This position requires the capability to travel with the Director to sites in Oregon.
