General Description: The Coordinator for Experiential Learning - STEM, under the direction of the Title V Project Director and in collaboration with STEM Division, will coordinate experiential learning opportunities (ELOs), and engage students in active career planning and exploration, beginning with the fields of Data Science, Cybersecurity, and Cyber Forensics, then extending to other STEM Division programs. By strengthening the College's relationships with outside employers and community organizations, the Coordinator will facilitate STEM student placement in internships and fieldwork. In addition, the Coordinator will support instructors in the development of ELOs using industry-specific technological tools in the Cyber Center, and Innovation Center, and supervise the grant resources.

Characteristics, tasks, and Job responsibilities: • Develop, expand, and facilitate placement in work-located learning practices including, but not limited to, internships and fieldwork for Data Science, Cybersecurity, and Cyber
Forensics, then extending to other STEM Division programs.

• Strengthen and maintain the College's relationship with outside employers and community organizations in the STEM fields.

• Develop and facilitate career development activities to all STEM students including but not limited to workshops, on-demand expertise training, professional connections, career exploration, resume preparation, and interview preparation.

• Coordinate professional development for staff and faculty on the best practices of student career development and training on use of industry-specific technological tools in the Cyber Center and Innovation Center.

• Collaborate with Cyber Center Coordinator and STEM instructors to develop on-campus, industry-specific ELOs that may include significant technological tools in the Cyber Center and Innovation Center.

• Develop a career workshop series for STEM students.

• Conduct annual assessment of significant industry-specific technological tools for the STEM programs. Recommend updates to tools in the Cyber Center and Innovation Center located on data-informed decision-making.

• Provide weekly grant usage reports for the Career Development activities.

• Promote ELOs through informational sessions, Canvas, social media, class visits, etc.

• Collect data and assess results of experiential learning on student learning results. Recommend modifications to existing services located on data-informed decision-making.

• Prepare and submit reports to the Title V Project Director, as required.

• Research and inform project staff/faculty on best practices in experiential learning for student success.
• Share grant updates and available resources for including ELOs in the classroom and in other areas of the college with the Experiential Education Advisory Committee.

• Collaborate with the Title V Preparing Union Students for Career Success staff, faculty, and Program Advisory Team on student success and retention initiatives.

• Perform additional related tasks as assigned.

Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree and industry-related practice in Computer Science/Cyber Programming required. Master's degree and industry-related practice in Computer Science/Cyber Programming preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.

• Familiarity with Ellucian Colleague, Business Objects, Canvas, and project management tools.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: • This position's tasks are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work environment, located on the activity scheduled.

• Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

• No or very limited exposure to physical risk.

• Some travel required.

income: $50,000-$53,000
