Position Title: Finance Associate

General Description: The Finance Associate supports the Finance department by managing various financial processes and maintaining accurate records. Reporting to the Director of Financial Operations, this function is integral in ensuring smooth financial operations within the College.

Characteristics, tasks, and Job responsibilities: • Card Management: supervise the usage and control of College-issued travel cards.
• Expense Reimbursements: Process expense reimbursements, ensuring they meet institutional guidelines.
• Record Keeping: Maintain and organize financial records in line with established procedures.
• Cash Receipts Processing: Manage cash receipts, including data entry and deposit preparation.
• Accounts Receivable: Process invoices and ensure accuracy in financial balances.
• Payment Preparation: Prepare payments for operational expenses as needed.
• Other tasks: Perform additional tasks as required to support financial operations.

Education Requirements: Associate Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Competencies and expertise Required: • Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in MS office, including Outlook and Excel, with the capability to leverage these tools for financial analysis.

• Communication: Good communication expertise with the capability to interact with various stakeholders.
• Attention to Detail: Careful attention to detail in financial tasks.
• Confidentiality: capability to handle sensitive information responsibly.
• Initiative: Demonstrated capability to work independently and take initiative.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: • This position's tasks are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work environment, located on the activity scheduled.

• Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

• No or very limited exposure to physical risk.

• Some travel required.

Terms of Employment: Full Time. Flexible schedule to meet department needs. Some evening, weekends, and extended hours will be required. capability and availability to travel on short notice to all on and off- campus sites as needed by the college. Employee must establish primary residency in New Jersey within one year of appointment unless an exemption applies.
