Min Hourly Rate $14.70 (Standard); $13.70 (Non-Urban); $15.95 (Portland Metro) Max Hourly Rate $21.00 (Standard); $20.50 (Non-Urban); $21.50 (Portland Metro) Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time student adjunct position (a maximum of 20 hours per week during academic terms and a maximum of 40 hours per week during academic breaks) at the Extension 4-H Youth Development Office at Oregon State University (OSU). This position is located in Corvallis. This position has a range of responsibilities depending on the expertise of the student and the needs of the State 4-H Office Staff. This position will provide support to 4-H staff in a variety of ways including day-to-day office operations and assisting with preparing for events (including but not limited to Summer Conference and State Fair). Work will primarily occur at the Extension 4-H Youth Development Office at the OSU Campus in Corvallis, but may occur at other locations as needed. Position tasks tasks will include but are not limited to: General Office tasks: » Data entry, copying, emailing, filing, creating posters/signage » Computer work and typing; document generation. » Organizing storage and supplies » Inventorying supplies » Ordering and purchasing of supplies » Digitizing files for long-term storage » Generate and distribute reports as requested. » Mail pick-up, sorting, and dissemination. Event Assistance » Assist with event coordination - before, during, and after events. » This may include evening and weekend hours depending on event schedules and work needs. » This may require travel in a personal vehicle. State Fair Assistance » Assist with review of State Fairbook. Update as requested. » Update signage binders, bins, and other documents and materials as appropriate and requested. » Participate as part of the State Fair data entry team. Assist with setup of ShoWorks fair data management system prior to fair. » Generate and distribute reports and exhibit tags to counties via email prior to fair. » Assist with Exhibit building clean up, move-in and set up. » Assist with preparation for exhbit take-in day before fair opens to public. » Assist with set up for judging and contests as needed. This may include moving equipment, tables, and chairs. » Provide assistance to project area leads, judges, volunteers, 4-H staff, and members as assigned. » Ensure that departments have all necessary paper and electronic reports. » Assist during fair as needed. » Assist with exhibit building take down, entry pick up and exhibit building clean up. » This will require travel to and from the Oregon State Fairgrounds in Salem. Other tasks as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Full Employment Eligibility Requirements can be found here: http://fa.oregonstate.edu/stu-manual/500-employment-eligibility-requiremen ts » Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study » Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment » Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard » High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program » Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term » Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term* » Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term » Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term* *International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered ?full-time? by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center. Additional Required Qualifications » General expertise and capability to use computers, including proficiency with information technology, professional office software, and collaborative work platforms. » Demonstrated capability to work independently and manage time. » capability to lgain and adapt to using multiple forms of digital communications systems, including websites, email newsletters, social media, and other tools in a changing technological environment. » Demonstrated proficiency with record keeping. » capability to complete data entry with a high level of accuracy and precision. » capability to proactively communicate with others as part of a team. » Must have the capability to carry, push and/or pull up to 30 lbs of materials. » Basic expertise of 4-H. Preferred (Special) Qualifications » Basic expertise of Extension. » Customer Service practice. » Data entry practice » practice with ShoWorks fair management software. » practice with event management. Working Conditions / Work Schedule » Work times can be flexible around another job, if necessary. » Anticipated hours per week: 10-15 hours (max 25 during the academic term, up to 40 hours during academic breaks) - depending on business needs. » Schedule to be set with manager in advance.
