Science History Institute

The Science History Institute is recruiting for a full-time Event Coordinator for its Conference Center. The Conference Center Event Coordinator is responsible for client engagement, event planning, culinary services, room sets, event billing, and staff management. The Conference Center Event Coordinator will supervise a team of Conference Services adjuncts to provide clients with high-quality executed events within its 13,500 sq. ft. Conference Center located in the beautiful Independence Hall historic area. This position requires a flexible schedule, as we host events during the business day, as well as evenings and occasional weekends.
The ideal candidate will possess the following Appropriate qualifications:
   » Minimum of five years of hospitality, event, or related practice
   » High school diploma or GED; bachelor's degree a plus
   » Professional presence with exceptional customer service and communication expertise
   » Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
   » Knowledge of Tripleseat or similar software is a plus
   » Excellent organizational expertise and attention to detail, with the capability to handle multiple simultaneous projects and to prioritize work to meet deadlines
   » Demonstrated capability to work under pressure, while maintaining a strong professional demeanor
   » Knowledge of audiovisual technology is a plus
   » capability to work evenings and weekends

**The starting annual income for this position is $55,000.
