Job Summary/Basic Function: About this function:

The Benefits manager position is responsible for directing and planning the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term discapability, worker's compensation, life insurance, flexible spending plan, retirement plans, etc.). This position provides excellent customer service and designs quality benefits plans. The administrator continually investigates new benefits programs, improves existing programs, and supervises and monitors the benefits administration.

What You'll Do - Position Responsibilities
   » Supervises, trains, coaches, directs, coordinates, and disciplines personnel while
adhering to organizational human resource policies, procedures and related employment
laws. Recommends hiring and terminating personnel actions for positions supervised.
   » supervises the everyday operations of the group benefits program and maintenance of
employee benefits files, maintain group benefits database and update employee payroll
records; ensuring compliance with significant laws and regulations, and implementing best
practices in HR management.
   » Analyze current benefits, evaluating the use, services, coverage, effectiveness, cost, plan practice and competitive trends in benefits programs, and identify the company's stance.
   » Monitor administrative costs of benefits programs and recommend cost containment
strategies, including alternative methods for administration and funding. Prepare
budgetary recommendations and assist in the monitoring, verifying and reconciling of
budgeted funds.
   » Coordinate everyday benefits processing; enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes,
beneficiaries, discapability, accident and death claims, rollovers, QDROs, QMCSOs,
distributions, loans, hardships and compliance testing.
   » Lead development and delivery of training and development programs for HR staff and
stakeholders regularly.

Minimum Appropriate qualifications:
   » Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or institution human resource management or related field
   » 4 years of practice in Workers' Compensation/employee benefits administration, and billing or any equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible practice in workers' compensation and employee benefits administration.
   » Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the capability to use Microsoft Suite; practice with HRIS and benefits databases.
   » Project and team management/leadership abilities skills and practice.
   » Demonstrated capability to manage time and prioritize projects to meet deadlines
   » Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively relate data to coworkers
   » Excellent critical thinking skills to help solve business problems
   » capability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accuracy
