Position Summary: A postdoctoral position is available at the Center for Earthquake Research and Information, University of Memphis for at least two years. The postdoc will work in the earthquake physics group at CERI under supervision of Dr. Goebel. and should contribute broadly to induced seismicity research. Specific research topics include seismicity analysis, machine learning, reservoir modeling, geothermal reservoir characterization and satellite radar interferometry. The postdoc should contribute to and collaborate with other group members on multi-disciplinary research problems in induced seismicity, earthquake physics, volcano seismicity and earthquake triggering.

The ideal candidate enjoys teamwork and has the capability to connect observational, and theoretical results across different scales. The postdoc is encouraged to seek collaborations with different faculty at CERI, the seismic monitoring team, and other departments at the UofM such as Civil Engineering, Earth Sciences and the Center for Applied Earth Science and Engineering Research.

The University of Memphis is located in Memphis, TN, a vibrant, friendly and affordable major city in the MidSouth. Memphis is home to essential Civil Right histories as well as multiple healthcare, logistics and technology headquarters. The city boasts a rich and diverse culture. Information technology is the cradle of both Blues and Rock ?n Roll and has a strong historical legacy. The city is located near the New Madrid and Eastern Tennessee seismic zones and home to CERI's broad seismic network.

This is a grant-funded position contingent upon funding availcapability.

Minimum Position Appropriate qualifications: Candidates should have a Ph.D. with a background in geophysics, structural geology, engineering seismology or a related discipline within 2.5 months after the start date.
