This 9-month, tenure-eligible position will begin in August 2025, and the prosperous candidate will be expected to teach students in the undergraduate and graduate programs. We seek a faculty colleague to join a high-achieving and dynamic department committed to preparing knowledgeable, effective, reflective, responsive, and collaborative professionals. Our programs aim to prepare future teachers and education professionals who deeply understand the critical issues necessary to effect transformative change in urban communities. Faculty in this department have the opportunity to inform curriculum, guide students' intellectual growth, engage in innovative research, and foster active learning environments. The selected applicant is expected to serve on Masters capstone projects and doctoral committees; maintain scholarly productivity in research, publications, and presentations; obtain external funds to support research activities; provide service to the field and profession; and participate in Program, Department, College, and University governance. Minimum practice/Education UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned doctorate or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline. Preferred Education, expertise and practice Required Appropriate qualifications: » Earned Ph.D. (earned by May 2025) in an appropriate field such as urban education, curriculum and instruction, and/or a related field from an accredited university. » Evidence of a strong commitment to teaching, advising, and mentoring students at the undergraduate, Master's, and Ph.D. levels. » Evidence of a deep knowledge, and knowledge, of critical issues in urban education. » Post-secondary teaching practice (face-to-face and online). » Evidence of an active research agenda and record of scholarship (e.g., published and/or works in progress). » knowledge and commitment to the mission of the university, college, and department. » capability to work collegially with others, including faculty, staff, and students.
