Minimum Position Appropriate qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in significant area and two years of appropriate practice. An equivalent combination of education, training and practice may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Special Conditions: This is a grant-funded position. This appointment is contingent upon the continued availcapability of grant funds and may be terminated at any time without cause or prior written notice. There is no expectation of continued employment beyond the expiration date of the grant. This appointment is made subject to the laws of the State of Tennessee and the policies and requirements of the University of Memphis.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
May need to work/travel beyond normal work schedule

Working Conditions: While performing the tasks of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Additional Working Conditions: The Good Jobs grant, called Upskill Midsouth, will establish a regional workforce and credential training workforce ecosystem for the Advanced Manufacturing, Logistics Technology, and Construction industries. This workforce ecosystem will align residents, employers, training providers, workforce and economic development associations, and community organizations in a Sector Partnership across West Tennessee, North Mississippi, and East Arkansas.

Job tasks

tasks & Job responsibilities: Provide direct customer service to candidates by interviewing and collecting eligibilitydocuments from interested customers for careers in advanced manufacturing, logistics technology and construction careers, individualized career exploration,employment, expertise training, and supportive services. Screen and assist customers in registering for industry expertise training and potential work-located learning opportunities. Work directly with Northwest & Southwest TN Workforce Board and American Job Centers in this region to connect customers to expertise training programs identified as accelerated.

tasks & Job responsibilities: Identify and recruit participants leveraging the American Job Center support, referrals, and business service unit at the Centers. Actively recruit customers and enroll customers in expertise training. Collaborate with local training providers, schools, businesses, and community organizations.

tasks & Job responsibilities: Match participant expertise and practice with employer requirements in advanced manufacturing, logistics technology, or construction. Supply information about approved expertise training and training providers to potential customers who qualify for this program.

tasks & Job responsibilities: Document participants' progress, needs, goals, and services provided to participants using TN.GOV software and build and maintain a participant paper file. Prepare reports on students and activities as required.

tasks & Job responsibilities: Accurately monitor and track participant's weekly activity progress for grant reporting.

tasks & Job responsibilities: Develop and facilitate orientation/training for potential student candidates for industry expertise training.
