Job Opportunity: Media Specialist:Pioneer PBSJob description: Media Specialist Listing description function and ResponsibilitiesThe Media Specialist is responsible for managing, organizing, updating, distributing, editing, deleting, curating, archiving and ?digitally filing? the media assets for Pioneer PBS.This position also provides support to production at Pioneer PBS, including graphic design, digital short production and editing as well as other general production needs as they arise. Functional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Media Specialist » Create and organize a database for archive of media assets of Pioneer PBS. » Manage access to the media database. » Assure all digital assets of Pioneer PBS are archived and protected. » Manage migration of data and media. » Manage and execute media issues as they develop. Production » Create digital content. » Use of various cameras for production. » Collecting appearance releases from interview subjects. » Clearing broadcast/streaming/web rights for music, stills and footage collected for programs. » Editing in Adobe Premiere. » Provide descriptions and promotional material in a timely manner. » Following production processes related to editing file structures, air table tracking etc. » Create graphics in the Adobe creative suite for use in promotion or production. » Working with program producers, videographers, and others to prepare content, programs, and social media for distribution. » Working cooperatively with representatives of all Pioneer departments to advance Pioneer's mission primarily through Legacy and MACP capacity funded works. » Maintain a work schedule that is consistent with the needs of Pioneer, the production teams, with occasional long hours as needed to complete productions, and as defined in consultation with your manager. » Participate in Pioneer events and station-wide projects. » Work with photographers, editors, writers, researchers, narrators, web designers, underwriters, and others in a collaborative approach to deliver high-quality content to Pioneer audiences. » Comply with appropriate rules and regulations, including those specific to Legacy and MACP funded activities as specified by the grant restrictions, FCC regulations, and Pioneer guidelines. » Travel for Pioneer production needs to production sites and meetings all over the area. » Other tasks as assigned. Qualifications and Education RequirementsThe Specialist will have a bachelor's degree in arts, mass communications, or a related field and have 2-3 years of related industry practice. practice in the Adobe Creative Suite. Intermediate to advanced expertise of Microsoft Office applications. Excellent communication expertise are a high priority as is working well as a member of a team.Preferred expertiseThe Media Specialist must have a pleasant, professional manner in greeting all members of the public. Have the capability to conduct interviews with subjects of production.
