Additionally, Information technology is the mission of the department to provide model comprehensive primary and consultative subspecialty care to children of eastern North Carolina, to advance scientific expertise through basic and clinical research, and to provide continuing medical education opportunities for physicians in the region. Job tasks The Department of Pediatrics at the Brody School of Medicine at ECU is seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) to provide mental health therapy to a diverse pediatric patient population and their family members. The primary purpose of this position is to provide broad mental health evaluation, assessment, and treatment to children and their families referred by healthcare providers. The assessment will include comprehensive evaluation of development, behaviors, and psychosocial functioning, in order to diagnose and develop comprehensive treatment plans. The therapist will provide short and long-term individual, group, and family therapy utilizing a variety of therapy methodologies including behavioral and insight-oriented treatment as well as play therapy. The therapist will utilize a multidisciplinary team approach and consult with other professionals involved with the family regarding assessment and treatment issues, family dynamics, treatment techniques, and community resources. This position sees patients at the General Pediatrics, Adolescent Medicine, and the Adult and Pediatric Health Care Clinics. CLINICAL SUPPORT POSITION - NOT SUBJECT TO STATE HUMAN RESOURCES ACT. The ECU Brody School of Medicine is affiliated with ECU Health Medical Center. ECU Health Medical Center is the flagship hospital for ECU Health and serves as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Employment in this position provides eligibility to participate in the UNC Optional Retirement Program (ORP) which offers matching employer contributions and employee control of investment choices, along with eligibility to participate in various Voluntary Supplemental Retirement Plans (401k, 403b. 457). Preferred practice, expertise, Training/Education Social work or counseling practice. A working expertise of pediatric diagnoses and child development is desirable.
