Job Summary Academics for Student Athletes is seeking an Academic Support Programs Coordinator. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.

The Academic Support Programs Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating, and executing the Academics for Student Athletes (ASA) Academic Support Programs (ASP), which include tutoring, small study groups, structured study hall, and Open Study, as well as the BEST summer bridge program. this function involves providing administrative, managery, professional, and technical support to the department. Additionally, this position collaborates with athletic administration, coaches, and other academic support units across campus to enhance student-athlete success.

This position reports to the Head Learning Specialist/adjunct Director.

Key Responsibilities 65% COORDINATE ASA ACADEMIC SUPPORT PROGRAMS
   » Coordinate, execute, and monitor all aspects of the ASA daytime and evening Academic Support Programs (ASP) including but not limited to content tutoring, small study groups, structured study hall, and open study lab.
   » Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and evaluate 40-60 peer educators (tutors, monitors, and leads). Act on peer educator disciplinary issues, including dismissal; address grievances, and develop a framework for corrective actions, as necessary.
   » Proactively engage tutors and leads in academic skill development by actively identifying skill gaps within course content and teaching study expertise and strategies.
   » Develop and access program goals and objectives and use this data to inform programmatic enhancements.
   » Schedule all ASP services in a timely fashion, in collaboration with ASA staff, utilizing the GradesFirst student success management system.
   » Provide supervision and mentoring to peer educators, including ASP leads, through goal setting, bi-weekly professional training, and check-in meetings, in partnership with the ASA Learning Specialist team and other campus partners.
   » Delegate and assign responsibilities to the ASP leads, such as auditing tutor notes, conducting tutor observations, and other tasks as appropriate
   » Collaborate with Athletics Compliance to educate on and ensure that all peer educators follow all university, conference, and NCAA policies and procedures.
   » Attain and maintain College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA) program certification and stay abreast of academic support best practices within higher education.
   » Serve as liaison to on-campus academic support resources for student-athletes and staff and partner with key university stakeholders to facilitate additional academic support opportunities for student-athletes.
   » Make appropriate budgetary recommendations to the Head Learning Specialist/adjunct Director.
   » supervise peer educator payroll and ensure the accuracy and submission of peer educator timesheets.
   » Adhere to all departmental and university policies and procedures, and conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.

30% COORDINATE THE BEST SUMMER BRIDGE PROGRAM

   » Develop, coordinate, and implement all aspects of the BEST summer bridge program, an intensive summer orientation to university academic practices for incoming student-athletes including a five-credit academic curriculum, weekend community-building and experiential learning events, and academic expertise support.
   » Establish and assess program goals and objectives, including student learning results, and use this data for program enhancements.
   » Collaborate with college departments to recruit and orientate BEST program OSU instructors.
   » Recruit, hire, and train OSU's BEST program teaching adjuncts.
   » Recruit, hire, train, and supervise ASP leads and monitors.
   » Collaborate with ASA Administrative adjunct and adjunct Learning Specialist to support program operational needs.
   » Collaborate with campus partners to ensure prosperous programming and arrange community-building and experiential learning events.
   » Lead group planning meetings.

   » Accept additional responsibilities and assignments at the direction of the Head Learning Specialist/adjunct Director and Director of ASA.
   » Contribute to a pleasant work environment and maintain respectful professional working relationships.
   » Attend and actively engage in staff meetings, trainings, professional meetings, seminars, workshops, and conferences, as budget allows.
   » Serve on team working groups.
   » Regularly collaborate with co-workers, campus partners, and manager to prosperously achieve mutually sought-after goals for the department and university.
What You Will Need
   » Bachelor's degree in education, sociology, psychology, counseling, or related field.
   » One year of practice prosperously coordinating support for student learning in higher education.
   » Proficiency in program initiation and implementation, with strong organizational, communication, and administrative expertise, including attention to detail, timely follow-up, and meeting deadlines.
   » Demonstrated capability to work effectively with individuals from diverse educational, cultural, and economic backgrounds.
   » capability and availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and some weekends.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must prosperously complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
