Dayton Public Radio/Discover Classical 88.1, 89.1 & 89.9FM is seeking a motivated candidate to join its Programming/Music Department. Reporting to the Music Director, the Programming/Music adjunct is responsible for day-to-day management of music and metadata in service to our listeners. This is a rare opportunity to join the team operating one of the few non-commercial, full-time classical music stations in the country. The ideal candidate is well-versed in classical music, tech-savvy, continuously seeks out improvements, and welcomes new challenges.
Primary Responsibilities
• Enter/maintain music database
• Identify & update missing information from music database
• Digitize/import music into music library daily
• Perform basic audio editing on imported music, ensuring uniform head/tail on audio tracks
• Light reception tasks
Secondary Responsibilities
• Enter playlist information for subscription/pre-recorded programs using PadLive
• Maintain station's social media accounts, including regularly scheduled posts
• Assist with other marketing projects as needed
• Other tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications
• Strong attention to detail, especially data uniformity
• capability to work independently
• practice with data entry and/or database management
• High degree of computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel
• Working expertise of classical music, including genres, forms, and canonical composers & pieces
Desired Qualifications
• practice with Adobe Audition or other Windows-located audio editing software
• Familiarity and practice with standard social media platforms, including Facebook, X, Instagram, etc.
This is not a remote/hybrid position. This is a full-time position that requires everyday interaction with the public, as well as our physical library of over 10,000 recordings.
Pay Range: $20.00-$22.00/hour plus benefits including paid vacation, sick leave, fully-paid medical, dental, and vision plan, and optional retirement plan with matching funds.

Located in Dayton, Ohio, Discover Classical is one of the few remaining non-commercial, 24-hour classical music stations in the United States. A voice for the classical music/fine arts community in Dayton, the station has evolved over its 39-year history to three full[1]time terrestrial signals, and serves a growing audience for classical music around the country, and around the world. The station is on solid financial footing, operating with zero debt, and an operating surplus for seven years running.
The station is community-licensed, with no affiliation to a college/university or public TV station. We are proud to be an independent, listener-supported public radio station fully devoted to classical music and fine arts information.
