Minimum Qualifications» Associates degree» One to three years related work practice in activity/event coordination » Demonstrate knowledge of and a commitment to: the community college mission and purpose; teaching and learning; high academic standards; and, student success » Knowledge and practice using integrated software systems and Microsoft applications (with proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Publisher, Excel, and PowerPoint presentation) » capability to work effectively with a diverse student population » Demonstrate organizational expertise with attention to detail » capability to work a flexible work schedule when needed to support planned events » Demonstrate excellent oral and written interpersonal expertise to effectively communicate with students, faculty, and the general public » Establishing and maintain effective working relationship with students, employees, and the greater community » Facilitate and model quality customer service

Position DescriptionThe Student Life Coordinator facilitates significant community campus-wide engagement for students, faculty, and staff. The Coordinators plans, organizes, and implements student life events, supervises student clubs, and serves as an advisor to the student government organization. The Coordinator also leads Event Planning Committees to coordinate campus-wide events.Essential tasks: » Coordinate all student related activities and functions » Promote and support campus clubs; promote the creation and development of new clubs; provide an annual orientation for all clubs advisors and agents; maintain appropriate contact with all clubs and advisors » Serve as an advisor for the Student Government Association and help to organize quarterly Student meetings. Is present at SGA meetings and sponsored events providing oversight to ensure activities and elections are conducted in a fair and equitable manner and in alignment with the college's policies and procedures » Promote, organize, and coordinate campus special events such as New Student Orientation, Welcome Back Bash, Fall/Spring Festivals, blood drives, Student of the Month, and other student events as needed » Coordinate, prepare, and disseminate publications related to student clubs, student activities and the campus community. » Assist in preparing and editing student flyers, posters, literature and other materials prepared by student groups for on and off-campus distribution. Implements and supervises processes for posting/distributing of materials on campus as requested » Process all paperwork needed for events and activities including activity forms, facility and maintenance requests, and vendor contracts as necessary. » Review and facilitate student travel documents for student clubs as needed. » Maintains accurate records of Student Activities events and Student Government Association activities (including event proposals, budgets, contacts, contracts, media/publicity, and evaluations) » Assist with updating theStudent Life and Club Handbook » Maintain and regularly publish an up-to-date student life activities and events calendar » Determine event staffing needs and provide guidance to those involved in implementing the event » Evaluate student events and confer with administration and the student advisory committee » Promote and support the college's Food Pantry service » Actively recruit and promote the College » Lead Event Planning Committees for campus-wide events including Opening Day, Picnics, Holiday luncheons, and other campus-wide events. » Maintain confidential information exposed in the course of day-to-day activities in regard to students or the college community » Performs all other tasks, as assigned
