Organizational Unit Overview The Office of Faculty Affairs and leadership abilities Development promotes excellence in medical education at ECU's Brody School of Medicine through the professional and leadership abilities development of faculty in all their functions - teachers, scholars, researchers, clinicians, scientists, and administrators and all over the lifecycle of their career, from onboarding to retirement. The Office of Faculty Affairs and leadership abilities Development also promotes the professional and leadership abilities development of staff at the Brody School of Medicine.
The various programs held by The Office of Faculty Affairs and leadership abilities Development or offered through collaboration with other ECU offices include programming on teaching and assessment, wellness, career development, research and writing support, and reappointment, tenure, and promotion. We facilitate the onboarding process through New Faculty Orientation and one-on-one entrance interviews for new faculty. We run a yearly junior faculty mentoring program (Mentoring Advice Program), a research mentoring program (Mentoring Research Group), a teaching, research, and leadership abilities development series, a leadership abilities academy, and Medical Education Day. We provide individual, small group, and team/department coaching sessions. We facilitate the Mission Champion Award process, the Master Educator Award process, and the Non-faculty Educator of Distinction Award process, and provide support for nomination/application to other University and non-university award processes. We celebrate faculty through our quarterly newsletter, our monthly Faculty Spotlight: Above and Beyond, our Notable Alum Spotlight, and our social media. We provide support in resolving faculty and staff inquiries and concerns, and we provide support for the recruitment and retention of excellent faculty and staff.

Job tasks Brody School of Medicine's Office of Faculty Affairs and leadership abilities Development at East Carolina University is currently seeking a full-time Programming Coordinator to join their team.

tasks of this position include:
Medical Education Day:
This position would be responsible for planning and executing Medical Education Day programming. tasks assigned with this program would be to identify a committee; plan agendas for monthly committee meetings all over the year; facilitate the committee meetings; coordinate with the committee to identify a keynote speaker, review abstract submissions, and select posters, presentations, and works in progress; coordinate with the Administrative Support Associate to plan the menu, plan speaker travel, and secure room reservations.
Mentoring Advice Program: This position would be responsible for planning and executing the Mentoring Advice Program. tasks assigned with this program would be to plan 10 + monthly workshops for mentees and coordinate with Eastern AHEC to provide CME/Contact Hours credit for the mentees; facilitate the call for applications; select mentees and identify mentors to match with mentees, collaborate with the presenters and the Administrative Support Associate.
Lectureship Series: This position would be responsible for planning and executing two lectureship series.
Late Career-Stage Faculty Programming: This position would be responsible for increasing the programming opportunities for those faculty who are in the later stages of their career. Programming would include resources for retirement and financial planning, as well as providing opportunities for showcasing their significant contributions to their work and planning for future engagement at the Brody School of Medicine.

Minimum Education/practice Bachelor's degree and one year of practice related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and practice. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
