The function of the Executive Director/Station Manager provides hands-on leadership abilities and a ?roll up your sleeves? mentality. Taking a strategic planning approach for station financial growth opportunities, the Executive Director/Station Manager will build relationships that inspire and enrich the lives of the people within the communities served by the station, in an effort to enhance consciousness and increase funding initiatives. Key Job responsibilities: » Facilitate creative, ?think out of the box? fundraising efforts to support station operations. » Cultivate major gifts and donor relationships and increase community consciousness/involvement. » Assist in preparing and maintaining the station's budget by providing sound fiscal principles. » Participate in regional public television groups and local meetings and events. » Plan, direct, and coordinate the operations of the station to ensure compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations, including but not limited to CPB, FCC, PBS, and EEO compliance. » supervise, supervise, and support departmental operations of the station alongside staff. » Evaluate continuing performance of direct reports and handle employee relations as necessary. expertise, expertise, and Abilities: » practice in management and supervision of a non-profit organization, its Staff and Board. » Possess expertise of operations and production management within a television station setting. » capability to interpret financial data and make informed decisions. » Strong organizational expertise and attention to detail. » Excellent written and verbal communication expertise. » Proficiency in general technology, including Microsoft Office and/or similar software.
