Job Summary The Athletics department is seeking an An adjunct Football Strength & Conditioning Coach. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE),12-month, professional faculty position.

The adjunct Football Strength and Conditioning Coach assists in the organization, administration, and promotion of all aspects of the Oregon State Strength and Conditioning (Athlete Development) Program. This position specifically assists in the design, supervision and evaluation of the Strength and Conditioning Program for Football and each specialized position the sport affords. Coaching includes instruction and athletic supervision of the athletes, program management for the specific area assigned and preparation of recommendations to the Head Football Strength and Conditioning Coach/Head Football Coach. The adjunct Coach will adhere to the policies set forth by direct managers, Head Coach/Director and Athletic Director, as well as Oregon State University, the PAC-12 Conference and The National Collegiate Athletic Association. Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the Athlete Development Program, including teaching, coaching, and educational activities.

Key Responsibilities 75% COACHING / INSTRUCTION
Provides consultation and expert advice to Head Football Strength Coach, Head Football Coach, and team members regarding the progress of each student athlete relative to their specific position for assigned sport(s). Prepares, plans, conducts, and evaluates practice sessions, as directed. Teaches individuals and groups of players specific tasks and expertise before, during and after practice, during season and off-season. Teaches progressions and drills during everyday practice time. Is available to coaches and players before, during and after practices.

15% TEAM ADMINISTRATION
Plans long and short-term team objectives under the leadership abilities of the Head Coach. Establishes requirements for team members in terms of athletic progress. Encourage and participate in activities that foster an environment that is diverse, equitable, inclusive, and fosters a sense of belonging for both student workers, student athletes, and co-workers.

5% RECRUITMENT
Prepares and distributes recruiting information. Participates in campus visits with prospective student-athletes and their parents.

5% CAMPUS & COMMUNITY COMMUNICATION
Interacts with various campus offices, departments, as well as individual faculty and staff members. Serves as guest speaker at public events on behalf of OSU Athletics. Will be involved in coordination of a Youth Program (camp) and may have one-on-one access to youth under the age of 18.

What You Will Need
   » Bachelor's Degree in any field.
   » Two (2) years of coaching practice at an NCAA or Professional Sports institution
   » Current Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association OR Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) certification.
   » Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
   » Demonstrated competency in the safe and effective development and implementation of strength & conditioning activities.
   » Demonstrated skill and capability to respond to emergency situations that could arise from strength & conditioning activities.
   » Demonstrated capability to communicate in a manner that shows respect and inclusivity for all co-workers and internal customers.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must prosperously complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
