Job tasks Key Responsibilities Project Delivery & Oversight - 70% of time » Provide day-to-day high-level support to the GRPI Director, assisting in the implementation of robust research management processes and protocols, in line with best practice » Project management of awarded projects and contracts in areas with little to no existing project support » Monitor account activity, tracking budgets, prepare reports and work with GRPI researchers, administrators and sponsors on updates, necessary adjustments and periodic reporting » Exercises responsibility for administering the budget, which includes making recommendations regarding the use and distribution of funds » Work with and resolve issues for GRPI affiliated faculty, staff, student-researchers, campus leadership abilities, sponsors and other stakeholders » Independently resolves and/or develops recommendations for unprecedented issues and problems. Problem resolution requires some interpretation of policy and procedures. Serves as a resource for others in resolving unprecedented, non-standard issues and problems » Communicate through team meetings and formal presentations in order to effectively convey to diverse audiences program information, including project updates, reports, promoting the project management Initiative and providing training to GRPI students and new staff » Deliver project events, such as research collaboration meetings, road-mapping workshops and seminars, and ensure meeting minutes are taken and distributed Proposal development - 15% of time » Work with GRPI Director and Sponsored Programs' Pre-Award team to identify appropriate funding opportunities and help develop high-quality proposals » Search for funding opportunities and facilitate the pre-award process Communications, Media, & Relationships Management - 15% of time » Communicate research and project information and status to all significant parties, providing early warning and escalation of key issues to the Director and others as appropriate » Act as a key contact for internal and external partners ensuring strong relationship management » Work with Director, GRPI staff, ECU, sponsors, and others affiliated with projects to ensure effective publicity and communication to appropriate entities appropriately addresses research findings and policy implications » Provide updated information for website and outreach purposes Minimum Education/practice Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and practice.
