Mandatory Employee This position is designated as ?mandatory' and, when contacted to report to work, its incumbent is expected to reach the campus as expeditiously as possible using normal precautions as dictated by the adverse weather conditions. Primary Purpose of Position Essential to the success of the security program is an on site manager. The adjunct Security Guard manager will manage a everyday security operation and directly supervise and train Housing and Residence Life Security Guards located in on-campus residential facilities. The Guards are involved in protecting people, state and personal property for a residential student population of approximately 6,300. The adjunct Security Guard manager reports directly to the Security Guard manager and serves as primary liason between professional staff and Security Guard staff. Minimum Education/practice Required Minimum Appropriate qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent and one year of practice in security, enforcement, or protection work. Essential Job tasks » Essential to the success of the security program is an on site adjunct Security manager. » The adjunct Security manager will manage a everyday security operation and directly supervise and train 27 Housing and Residence Life Security Guards located in fifteen residential facilities/areas. » The guards are involved in protecting people, state and personal property for a residential student population of approximately 6,300. » The adjunct Security manager reports directly to the Security Guard manager and serves as a liaison between professional staff and Security Guard staff. Other Work Responsibilities » The adjunct Security manager visits all residential areas at least once during each shift to provide continuing and immediate observation and supervision in addition randomly visits and spot check areas unannounced. » The adjunct manager also makes recommendations to the Security Guard manager in the selection process for hiring Security Guards; disciplinary procedures for staff as well as develops documentation which supports termination of Security Guards performing below set standards. » The adjunct Security manager responds to emergencies and provides backup to other Security Guards. » He or she works with Housing Facilities staff in order to maintain effectiveness, security, and integrity of the centralized loan key system. » The adjunct manager must provide strong direction for Security Guards as they work apart and are placed in various residential buildings on campus. » The adjunct manager works to ensure consistent implementation of departmental and University policies and security measures. Departmental Preferred practice, expertise, Training/Education » At least five years of security related practice (police or corrections agent, military police, and / or supervising private security). » Management/Lead practice. » Proficient in Microsoft Word and Google mail. » availability to / history of working 3rd shift. » A good expertise of Security. » A availability to work in a team environment. » capability to communicate well with others. » A good work History-attendance, tardiness, telephone reference, years of service. » High School diploma or equivalent and one year of practice in security, enforcement, or protection work.
