Job Summary The College of Business invites applications for a full-time (1.00 FTE), 9-month, tenure-track adjunct, or tenured Associate or Full Professor position.

Appointment at the adjunct Professor rank is anticipated; however, appointment at a promoted rank may be considered depending upon the qualifications of the prosperous candidate.

The School of Accounting, Finance and Information Systems (AFIS) is part of the College of Business. The College of Business offers a full range of undergraduate and graduate programs, and teaching assignments may include both undergraduate and graduate courses in Accounting,

   » High quality teaching and scholarly activities that result in publications in leading peer-refereed journals.
   » At the adjunct Professor level, candidates are expected to establish a program of research/scholarship that leads to timely promotion in rank and the granting of indefinite tenure, with evidence for continued research and scholarly publication.
   » At the Associate/Full Professor level, candidates should have an established and on-going research program resulting in high-impact scholarly publications.
   » Engagement in service activities in the School, College, University and the Profession.
   » Faculty are expected to be collegial and supportive members of the unit and to exhibit a code of behavior appropriate to a professional educator.

Key Responsibilities 45% Teaching: primary teaching tasks include teaching courses in Oregon State University's Accounting program in-person, online and/or hybrid format. Teaching should contribute to equity, diversity, and inclusion efforts, such as: providing mentoring and opportunities for students from underprivileged backgrounds; enabling the advancement of diverse perspectives; and promoting equitable results for all learners.

45% Scholarship: demonstrated through the prosperous dissemination of research results, including but not limited to peer-refereed scholarly journals. Other contributions may be considered.

10% Service: engagement in activities, both in the University and the profession, that contribute to the College and University strategic initiatives and/or support DEI efforts fostering an inclusive academic environment.

What You Will Need
   » Ph.D. in Accounting from an AACSB accredited business school.
   » Evidence of effective delivery of Accounting courses at the University-level.
   » Demonstrated commitment to educational equity and a commitment to advancing the participation of diverse groups and supporting diverse perspectives.
   » Evidence of potential for research and scholarly publications in premier-level Accounting journals.

For the Associate Professor rank, candidates must show evidence of:
   » Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, advising, service, and other assigned tasks;
   » Achievement in scholarship and creative activity that establishes the individual as a significant contributor to the field or profession, with potential for distinction;
   » Effective institutional and professional service, and an appropriate balance between the two.

For the Full Professor rank, candidates must show evidence of:
   » Distinction and sustained effectiveness in teaching, advising, service and other assigned tasks, curricular development, awards and recognition;
   » Distinction in scholarship, as evidenced in wide recognition and significant contributions to the field or profession;
   » Exemplary institutional and professional service, and an appropriate balance between the two.
