To provide leadership abilities in curriculum development, program evaluation, student assessment and medical education research and scholarship. To work with our academic medical center partners in creating a variety of opportunities for students across North Carolina to pursue a career in medicine. Job tasks The Learning Management System (LMS) Curriculum Support Specialist within Brody School of Medicine's Office of Medical Education will have the following Job responsibilities: 40% -Contribute to the submission of the Curriculum Inventory Survey that is designed to serve as the premier benchmarking and reporting tool on content, structure, delivery, and assessment of medical school curricula reported to the AAMC and LCME. -Review and assess course setup and streamline structure of LMS content to ensure that courses meet intended objectives and requirements. -Review and evaluate key word and MeSH (Medical Subject Heading) terms for individual sessions in courses and clerkships. -Use course evaluations and internal and external data collected in OME to make recommendations to improve curriculum. -Routinely work with appropriate faculty to develop, maintain, and revise curriculum documents located on systemic reviews and analysis. This includes revising session and course objectives to match educational best practices. -Ensure each course setup matches the course objectives and appropriate taxonomy. -Consistently work with course/clerkship directors to streamline taxonomy efforts and course setup. -Provide stakeholders with examples of how course setup and objectives influence regular classroom instruction. 10% -Serve as a backup to the LMS Administrator and a member to the LMS Super Admin Team. 30% -Train and onboard new faculty, coordinators, and staff to VidaNovaVLE. -Routinely work with appropriate faculty to develop, maintain, and revise curriculum documents located on systemic reviews and analysis. This includes revising session and course objectives to match educational best practices. -Coordinate efforts with OME team that manages the collection of student and faculty evaluations, satisfaction data, annual reviews in all applicable platforms (VidaNovaVLE, Elentra, RedCap, Qualtrics, etc). 15% -Work with vendor partners to ensure full functionality of classroom support products and LMS integration efforts (Panopto, Turning Point, etc.). 5% -Actively pursue opportunities to continue to lgain best practices in curriculum writing through research, professional development and other learning opportunities. -Incorporate Brody vision, mission, and strategic plan in in all aspects of the position. -Coordinate efforts with OME team that manages the collection of student and faculty evaluations, satisfaction data, annual reviews in all applicable platforms (VidaNovaVLE, Elentra, RedCap, Qualtrics, etc). Minimum Education/practice Master's Degree in Education, Educational Assessment and Evaluation, Educational Measurement, Educational Statistics, or related field - or a combination of a bachelor's Degree in Education, Educational Assessment and Evaluation, Educational Measurement, Educational Statistics, or related field and 2 years of related practice. Curriculum Development and Management practice. Demonstrated capability to use a variety of software solutions such as SAS, SPSS, PowerBi, Nvivo, Tableau, and or similar tools. Demonstrated practice in mentoring and training new faculty in setting curricular goals and objectives. Excellence in written and oral expertise. License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation N/A Preferred practice, expertise, Training/Education capability to manage multiple projects effectively and efficiently. Strong organizational, project management, and time management expertise. Detail-oriented approach. broad report writing expertise and the capability to use data and graphics to enhance the delivery of information. Skilled in both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Demonstrated capability to evaluate the effectiveness of programs and make recommendations for improvements.
