Job Summary The Office of Admissions is seeking a Transfer Services Manager. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position located in Corvallis, Oregon. This position reports directly to the Associate Director of Transfer Admissions.

The Transfer Services Manager is a part of the OSU Transfer Admissions team and will support the primary mission of Oregon State University. This manager identifies and creates opportunities for increased partnership opportunities between the University and assigned target community colleges.

The Transfer Services Manager builds and maintains campus networks to advocate for and assist transfer students in finding needed resources.

The incumbent must be able to explain OSU policies, admissions criteria, registration processes, and financial aid application procedures. The TSM identifies systemic barriers faced by transfer students and works in conjunction with the Associate Director for resolution.

Working in collaboration with campus partners, the Transfer Service Manager's support includes assistance with the application process, pre-transfer advising and course selection, transitional programming, academic program planning, and career planning (among other services). Further, support is provided on-site at the assigned community colleges, and OSU locations.

Travel is expected between assigned sites. Travel to other sites for community events and presentations within the assigned territory is expected on a more infrequent basis. Some travel is expected (as needed). Some evening and weekend work is required.

The TSM liaisons with HS Administrators to facilitate early college programs, they are the primary contact for partner high school and community college, students, and their families. The TSM works to educate campus on the needs of transfer students. Transfer Students are integral to OSU's enrollment plan and critical to meeting current and future enrollment goals. The Student Services Manager for Transfer Students reports to the Associate Director for Transfer Admissions

Key Responsibilities 45% TRANSFER STUDENT SUPPORT
   » Use expertise of OSU policies, timelines, admissions criteria, registration, articulation, and financial aid application procedures to advise transfer (including Degree Partnership Program and early college) students in person, electronically via email/virtual meetings, and on campus.
   » Monitor progress of prospective undergraduate transfer students and enforce university and college academic standards and suggest corrective strategies and actions when necessary.
   » Assist transfer students through a discovery process of personal interest areas and possible areas of study/majors.
   » Help identify and connect transfer students to appropriate OSU and community college support resources/programs that will facilitate a seamless and timely transfer process and maintain communications appropriate for audiences from diverse backgrounds and cultural identities.
   » Identify systemic barriers that transfer students face and work in conjunction with the Associate Director to seek solutions.
   » Represent transfer student and university interests in resolving transfer issues.
   » Work collaboratively with campus partners to provide consistent, orchestrated support.

20% RECRUITING AND PROGRAMMING
   » Support the OSU transfer student recruitment strategy through the planning and execution of recruitment events at target community colleges, virtually, and on campus. Events include (but not limited to) tabling, classroom presentations, and information fairs.
   » Coordinate with, and provide transfer admissions support to, OSU academic colleges and programs in their engagement with community college populations.
   » Participate in the Oregon Transfer Days community college tour, representing OSU, Degree Partnership Program (DPP) and Ecampus.
   » Assist with Degree Partnership Program lab during OSU START (new student orientation). Participate in orientation sessions as needed.
   » Possess and maintain a valid drivers license and satisfactory driving record.
10% PARTNERSHIP-BUILDING
   » Work with community college administrators and Associate Director to explore/develop additional opportunities for formalized partnership (including access to recruitment space, community college databases, etc.).
   » Provide regular communications with community college and related partners to maintain open dialogue and keep partners informed of progress and results of the partnership.
10% ADMISSION FILE REVIEW
   » Provide holistic application review to transfer students (including the review of supplemental materials and insight resumes if provided) and recommend admissions decision recommendations as appropriate.
5% RECORDS, DATA MANAGEMENT, AND ADMINISTRATIVE tasks
   » Maintain accurate notes and records of student meetings in Admissions CRM and other student information systems.
   » Consult with OSU academic advisors to evaluate transfer credits for program requirements and track communications.
5% TRAINING
   » Communicate consistently with community college partners and advisors, responding promptly to issues that arise.
   » Participate in term meetings with partner institutions, provide significant program updates and necessary training on procedures.
5% OTHER
   » Other tasks as assigned.
What You Will Need
   » Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
   » Minimum one year-full time professional practice working in a higher education student services function (or a related field including K-12 education or non-profit work) such as recruiting and admissions, advising, orientation, international programs, financial aid, career services, academic programs, or related fields.
   » Demonstrated professional oral and written communication expertise and capability to communicate with diverse audiences.
   » Strong organizational/project management, public speaking, and event planning expertise with keen attention to detail
   » Demonstrated collaborative expertise working with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external to an organization.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must prosperously complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must prosperously complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.

   » A combination of practice in an administrative function in Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar's Office, Student Success, distance education/online learning or academic articulation, academic advising.
   » In depth expertise of transfer student issues.

   » Proficiency in BANNER SIS, Slate, DegreeWorks or other CRMs
   » Graduate degree in College Student Services Administration, Higher Education, Counseling, or another significant field
   » Previous practice with community college and/or transfer student populations (particularly in an academic advising or recruiting function)
   » Demonstrated proficiency in a second language (Spanish preferred)
Working Conditions / Work Schedule Typically, office work with moderate amount of travel required. Possible evening and weekends on occasion.
