Job Summary The Center for Sorority and Fraternity Life in the Office of the Dean of Students is seeking a Coordinator for Fraternity and Sorority Life. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.

The OFFICE OF THE DEAN OF STUDENTS in the Division of Student Affairs at Oregon State University is dedicated to providing an environment that will enable students to effectively engage in their academic and intellectual work.

The COORDINATOR for FRATERNITY and SORORITY LIFE would have primary responsibility for supporting the functions of Fraternity and Sorority Life at Oregon State University, with a focus on advising two (2) of the governing councils as well as individual fraternities and sororities and other fraternity/sorority registered student organizations (All University Sing or Order of Omega). Fraternity and Sorority Life at OSU is vibrant and requires the support and commitment of a Coordinator to implement new initiatives and continue to grow and develop the fraternity/sorority community to live up to the highest principles and ideals upon which their organizations were founded. As the OSU Fraternity and Sorority Community continues to grow to over 2,700+ students, we recognize the need to continue to support and care for this community of students.

The Coordinator would be responsible for supporting the community as Information technology strives to fully realize this potential. The Coordinator would help to enhance strong campus-wide relationships of support for the Center for Fraternity and Sorority Life, and would be a contact and a liaison for external constituents to include (but not be limited to): Fraternity and Sorority alumni/alumnae, local and regional boards, and national organizations, Corvallis community organizations, and local police and fire department officials. The Coordinator would partner in supporting the CFSL through education and outreach programs that advance and enhance the OSU Community.

Key Responsibilities 50% PROGRAM COORDINATION
supervise assigned program areas within fraternity/sorority life. This may include areas such as leadership abilities development, risk reduction and management, academic achievement programming, agent transition and training planning, among others.
Provide advisory support and oversight to two of five recognized fraternity/sorority governing councils.
Provide advisory support and oversight to assigned chapters and interest groups.
Coordinate annual leadership abilities retreat programming and the Association for Fraternal leadership abilities & Vales Central Conference
Support involvement in Admissions events and coordinate the preparation for summer START (new student orientation) engagement
Advise the Greek Week Committee and support Greek Week Events
Participate actively in all CFSL team projects, meetings and events.
Demonstrate a commitment to working with, supporting, and developing programming for diverse populations

25% OUTREACH
Support council and community-wide recruitment and membership intake initiatives.
Support involvement in Admissions events and coordinate the preparation for summer START (new student orientation)engagement
Serve as lead staff member for assigned council recruitment processes.
Compile updates for the annual CFSL Publication provided to incoming students and their families to enhance student recruitment to CFSL supported chapters.
Maintain the CFSL website and calendar.

20% ANALYSIS & PROGRAM SUPPORT
Provide general office management support and coordinate the maintenance of CFSL related rosters, filing systems and resource materials.
Coordinate the reviewing of student organization recognition applications, renewal process, and procedures of student organizations, including responsibility for grade and student status eligibility verification.
Prepare and distribute quarterly grade report and community statistics reports
Coordinate group conference travel.

5% OTHER
May guide the work of student employees.
Participate in the Division of Student Affairs and Office of the Dean of Students Organizational programs, meetings, committees, and activities.
Other tasks as assigned.

What You Will Need
   » Bachelor's Degree in education, communication, social sciences, political science, business or related field.
   » Minimum 1-2 years professional work practice gaining requisite expertise, expertise and abilities pertaining to the position, specifically related to higher education, student development or leading fraternity/sorority life programs.
   » Affiliation with an inter/national fraternal organization.
   » Demonstrated practice engaging with governing councils and/or Greek-letter organizations (in particular working with multicultural Greek Letter organizations such as NPHC, NALFO, NMGC, NAPA, etc.).
   » Demonstrated commitment to working with, supporting, and developing diverse populations.
   » Effective verbal and written communication expertise.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must prosperously complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
