We are also a teaching institution that is renowned for academic excellence. As an R2 university we make a significant investment in faculty research by providing support related to travel, technology, research databases, and development. We are one of the largest universities in North Carolina with almost 27,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Our main campus is in uptown Greenville, which is a rapidly expanding city and the predominant health, entertainment, financial, and educational hub of the eastern North Carolina region. In addition, many of our students come from rural communities with their own set of challenges and perspectives.

The College of Business (COB) has been AACSB accredited for over 40 years. We offer BSBA, MBA, and MSA degrees and our School of Hospitality Management offers both a BS in Hospitality Management and an MS in Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality. Additionally, the Miller School of Entrepreneurship offers a BS in Entrepreneurship. We are one of the largest Colleges of Business in the state with approximately 4,200 undergraduate and over 900 graduate students. To date, the COB has approximately 150 faculty members of the highest caliber, skilled in the scholarship of research, teaching, and application of expertise. A strategic goal of the college is to create an environment where the faculty, staff, and students can thrive and be personally and professionally respected.

The Department of Management within the College of Business at ECU has approximately 1,300 undergraduate majors and over 40 faculty members that offers courses to both undergraduate and graduate levels. The Department of Management also houses the Miller School of Entrepreneurship (MSOE) with an additional four faculty members and over 300 students in this growing program. The Miller School has a significant impact in fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship across the campus. Major curricular and cocurricular programs include a BS in Entrepreneurship degree, undergraduate Entrepreneurship Certificate, Summer Innovation Academy, and the Pirate Entrepreneurship Challenge. The Miller School has been ranked a Princeton Review Top 50 undergraduate program for the past five years and won the USASBE Model Emerging Program Award in 2021.

Job tasks The Miller School of Entrepreneurship within the Department of Management in the College of Business at East Carolina University is seeking candidates for a tenure-track, nine-month faculty position beginning August 2025. The prosperous candidate will be able to teach some combination of undergraduate and graduate entrepreneurship courses. The standard teaching load is 9 scheduled hours in each of the fall and spring semesters. Additional tasks include research/creative activities leading to publications as required for tenure as well as appropriate service to the university, community, and profession. This appointment will be at the rank of adjunct Professor.

Minimum Education/practice This appointment requires a terminal degree with a concentration in Business Administration, Management, Entrepreneurship, or related field, that is from an appropriately accredited institution and that satis?es credentialing under SACS guidelines. Candidates with the terminal degree conferred at the time of initial appointment will hold the probationary rank of adjunct Professor. ABD candidates will be appointed with the probationary term rank of adjunct Professor and must have the terminal degree conferred prior to their ?rst reappointment. This position requires evidence of the capability to develop, implement, and maintain a signi?cant continuing research agenda as well as evidence of excellence in teaching.

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation N/A

Preferred practice, expertise, Training/Education Prefer candidate with terminal degree conferred and interest in Entrepreneurship. Related teaching practice and evidence of prosperous high-quality refereed journal scholarship will be considered favorably.
