Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) student employee position for Oregon State University's College of Liberal Arts (CLA).

The CLA Student Photographer will create impactful visual assets used on the CLA's websites, social media campaigns, and in print design. As visual content is the cornerstone for almost all communications, this position's skill and creativity will contribute significantly to advancing the goals of the CLA Marketing and Communications team.

The CLA Student Photographer will be assigned projects by members of CLA's Marketing and Communications team to capture images of people, events, and activities that represent the college. This position will also provide support to CLA's senior visual designers, assisting on larger scale shoots and projects.

About the College of Liberal Arts
The College of Liberal Arts encompasses seven distinct schools, as well as several interdisciplinary initiatives, that focus on humanities, social sciences, and fine and performing arts. Curriculum developed by the college's nationally and internationally-renowned faculty prepares students to approach the complex problems of the world ethically and thoughtfully, contributing to a student's academic foundation and helping to build real-world expertise for a 21st century career and a purposeful life.

Position tasks 70% - Photography
Manage, schedule, shoot, and edit assigned photography for use in social media, marketing materials, and feature stories. Direct photo shoots as needed or work under art direction of department team members.

20% - Videography
Works with CLA visual designers and social media team in creating videos showcasing initiatives in academic programs, student life, or other CLA happenings. He/She/They will manage and/or assist with the shooting and editing.

10% - Management of Visual Assets
Assist in managing the college's visual assets, including cataloging, organizing and keywording photos and videos. Secure and manage model releases for all shoots.

   » Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
   » Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
   » Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
   » High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
   » Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
   » Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
   » Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
   » Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered ?full-time? by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
