Physicians are available 24 hours per day, seven days per week. The outpatient services, located in Doctor's Park #6A off Stantonsburg Road, include an HIV clinic, including a longitudinal training clinic for resident physicians, a general infectious disease clinic and the ECU Physicians International Travel clinic. Infectious Diseases Clinic is a regional referral center for patients and physicians all over eastern North Carolina. Job tasks expertise of basic nursing technique and medical terminology Use nursing expertise and medical terminology to coordinate client laboratory appointments Monitor medical providers clinic appointment schedules to identify upcoming client's appointments Review medical record of clients with upcoming medical providers clinic appointments and identify what laboratory test a client needs prior to the appointment Use clinic protocols to schedule laboratory test within ASC clinic or at regional LabCorp office Work with Regional LabCorp offices to ensure a seamless process to get laboratory test ordered and lab results sent to Adult Specialty Care clinic Do lab appointment client reminder calls to improve lab appointment attendance and monitor no-show and canceled appointment Assist the nursing team in making nursing assessment according to their scope of practice and by written protocols Assist the phlebotomist in getting client's lab drawn in the Adult Specialty Care clinic Reviewing and analyze Lab utilization reports to maximize the number of clients that get labs drawn prior to medical care visit Monitoring the number and percent of labs drawn prior to the medical appointment improve clinic visit Independently identify problems, decide appropriate solution, and assume responsibility for managing the result of the decision Communicate both verbally and in writing the outcome of Lab coordination efforts and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team CLINICAL SUPPORT POSITION - NOT SUBJECT TO STATE HUMAN RESOURCES ACT.
