Job Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Project Coordinator position for the Human and Ecosystem Resilience and Sustaincapability Lab at Oregon State University (OSU) - Cascades.

This position will be located in Bend, Oregon.

This is a limited duration appointment expected to last approximately 1 Year from the appointment begin date.

The Oregon State University Human and Ecosystem Resilience and Sustaincapability (HERS) Lab is a research institution co-led by OSU Cascades and the National Park Service (NPS) that delivers skills in ecological assessment and monitoring, restoration, and native plant materials to support evidence-located conservation for the 21st century. The HERS Lab hosts the Upper Columbia Basin Inventory and Monitoring Network of the National Park Service (UCBN), East Cascades Native Plant Hub (ECNPH), and the Northwestern Bat Hub on the OSU Cascades campus in Bend, OR. The Lab is hiring one Restoration Project Coordinator for a 12-month 1.0 FTE appointment, with a possibility for extension subject to availcapability of funds and/or project requirements.

This position serves as the Restoration Project Coordinator at OSU-HERS to manage an existing project in collaboration with the National Park Service at the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument. The project entails working with staff representatives for the park, UCBN, ECNPH and Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs to design and implement a coordinated plan to transition existing agricultural fields within the Cant Ranch Historic District to native vegetation as directed by a forthcoming NEPA Record of Decision (ROD). Additional tasks may include coordinating with the Tribes on riparian and upland restoration projects elsewhere in the Basin. The Coordinator will work closely with park staff and partners to translate the ROD into a comprehensive plan for specific treatment areas, including invasive plant management details, plant materials needed for project completion, identification of parties responsible for individual project components, modifications to the existing irrigation system, and post-project effectiveness monitoring. The Coordinator will report to the lab director/project PI and will work closely with the PI on restoration plan development and overall project management.

Key Responsibilities This position is responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of restoration project planning and initiation.

60%
Direct and coordinate restoration project activities, including scheduling meetings, developing and disseminating meeting agenda, developing and managing project timelines, assembling and interpreting project-significant information, coordinating with project partners to ensure project task completion.

20%
Develop and document a restoration project plan pursuant to the NEPA Record of Decision.

10%
Collaborate with the ECNPH principal investigator (PI) and Project Manager 2-Plant Propagation Coordinator to identify and support plant material needs for the project.

10%
Coordinate with the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs on project overlap with stream and riparian restoration planning and implementation.

What We Require
Four years of practice as an executive adjunct, administrative analyst, researcher or administrative agent which included administrative tasks, provision of technical assistance, or operations review. Two of the required years must have included administration or oversight of an on-going project or program. A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration or a closely-related field may be substituted for up to two years of the required practice. There is no substitution for the two years of administrative practice. Preference may be given to individuals with practice in a specialty area specific to the position opening.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must prosperously complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must prosperously complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.

Working Conditions / Work Schedule The majority of work will be conducted in office settings, although the position will require occasional travel to John Day Fossil Beds National Monument or other locations in Oregon to meet with project partners.
