Posting DetailsPosition InformationPosting Number: 20112929 Position Title: adjunct Basketball Coach FTE: 1.0 Employment type: Staff Department: Mens Basketball Position Summary Information Job Summary/Basic Function: About this function: The adjunct Basketball Coach assists the Head Men's Basketball Coach in running certain aspects of the men's basketball program at Lamar University. The position requires a commitment to compliance and academics leading to the graduation of student-athletes. The position requires active involvement in the community for fundraising purposes. What You'll Do - Position Responsibilities » Assists the Head Men's Basketball Coach with on-court coaching during practice and competition. » Assist in a prosperous recruiting program and will attempt to recruit the best students as well as athletes. » Assists the Head Men's Basketball Coach in a variety of administrative tasks with other coaching tasks assigned by the Head Coach. » Actively participates in fundraising and development of the program and make himself/herself available to the news media on appropriate occasions. » Perform other tasks as assigned by the Head Men's Basketball Coach. Key Competencies: » expertise of NCAA rules and regulations. » Commitment to compliance and academic success. » Effective communication, both written and oral. » Exceptionally strong organizational skills. » capability to recognize and promote the best interest of the student-athletes both academically and athletically - encouraging each to graduate. » Strict adherence to established NCAA, Southland Conference, Texas State University System, and Lamar University rules and regulations required. A violation of these rules and regulations can lead to disciplinary action including termination. Physical Requirements: » This position required sitting and standing for extended periods of time and lifting up to 25 pounds while performing the essential functions as described within the essential job functions.
