Academy of Vocal ArtsACADEMY OF VOCAL ARTSPRODUCTION AND FACILITIES MANAGER The Academy of Vocal Arts seeks a Production and Facilities Manager. Reporting to the President and Artistic Director, the Production and Facilities Manager will supervise all production/technical aspects of AVA productions, recitals, concerts, and related events. In addition, this position will be responsible for AVA's physical plant and historic Rittenhouse campus by modifying a comprehensive facilities maintenance plan and superviseing its execution. RESPONSIBILITIES Production Responsibilities include: » Manage set, lighting, costume, and props teams to ensure timely delivery of renderings, drawings, set/prop construction. » supervise, engage, and manage stage crew » Facilitate production rentals/co-productions/new productions as necessary. » Coordinate and supervise all load-in/outs for all theaters/venues for AVA productions including truck rental logistics » Book various theaters, schools, churches, Kimmel Center, etc in consultation with the President/Artistic Director » Ensure safety of all AVA productions » Manage and maintain warehouse facility » Schedule and coordinate all piano moves and tunings with outside contractors » Set up orchestra pits for all productions » General set up of chairs and tables for various events and performances » Possible travel to evaluate production possibilities. Facilities Responsibilities include: » Review, execute and modify (where necessary) the facilities maintenance plan and budget including short and long-term projects in consultation with the President/Artistic Director and Chief Financial agent » Engage outside contractors for projects as necessary » Manage annual safety inspections including sprinkler system, backflow detectors, alarm systems, etc. » Supervise cleaning of AVA facilities » Execute as necessary minor upkeep/repairs such as, but not limited to, HVAC systems, lighting, windows, storm drains, door locks, landscaping, snow removal, powerwashing, etc. » Ensure safety of AVA physical plant and campus expertise and Qualifications » Bachelor's degree preferred but not required » 5-7 years of theatrical/opera production practice » Facilities maintenance practice » Interpersonal expertise » Interest in classical music a plus » Evening/weekend hours required Type of Employment: Salaried, Exempt An equal opportunity employer, the Academy of Vocal Arts is committed to fostering an environment in which employees from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and personal practices are welcomed and can thrive.
