Job AnnouncementPosition InformationPosition Title: Coordinator, Student Success Initiatives Campus: Cranford Department: Student Success Initiatives Full-time, Part-time, Adjunct: Full Time Exempt or Non-Exempt: Exempt Regular,Temporary, or Grant: Regular General Description: The Coordinator of Student Success Initiatives shall be skilled in academic advising, transfer advising, transcript review, and the degree clearance process. The primary responsibility of this position is to supervise Project Achievement (Women) population, the institution's graduation initiative dedicated to increasing student success of our African American male and female students. Project Achievement includes both academic and social programming components including social engagement events held on and off campus related to personal and professional development for African American men and women. The prosperous candidate is detail-oriented and has the expertise to analyze, forecast, and report broadly on data related to Student Success efforts. S/he must also be expertiseable of the college's degree programs, graduation requirements, CLEP testing policies, and transfer requirements. S/he will work under the supervision of the adjunct Dean of Student Success, with a focus on Project Achievement, and other related student success initiatives. Characteristics, tasks, and Job responsibilities: · Manages the transcript review process of student cohorts: ensures the detailed documentation of student transcript reviews, follows up with students concerning their degree progress with a focus on timely completion, and accountable for ensuring accurate transcript reviews and documentation. · Reports through different platforms; analyze data and trends; provide forecasts; and share information through dashboards. Through data analysis, develop and implement strategies for increasing retention and graduation rates for cohort students. · Develops and implements programs and events to support students' progression toward degree completion, and to foster student engagement by providing academic, social and cultural supports, specifically for the Project Achievement (Women) initiative. · Completes student communications regarding degree completion progress and requirements. This includes ensuring that cohort students are contacted through multiple means regarding their degree completion requirements. · Supervises Student Services Generalist for Student Success Initiatives · Represents Student Success Initiatives area at campus meetings, professional development workshops, and college assemblies. Prepares and makes presentations on student success initiatives at professional conferences, with a focus on Project Achievement (Women). · Responsible for completing waiver and substitution forms for cohort students as determined through the degree completion review. · Updates completion progress logs for all cohort members, which includes ensuring everyday updates to progress logs are posted, coordination of completion efforts of advisors on all campuses, and communication of completion activities with advisors at all campuses. · Fosters a collaborative, team-oriented work environment, and serves in managery capacity for the area in the absence of the adjunct Dean of Student Success. · Perform other tasks as assigned. Education Requirements: Master's Degree in Student Affairs, Social Sciences, Education or closely related field is required. practice: · At least 3+ years of practice in demonstrated prosperous advising environment. Competencies and expertise Required: · capability to establish cooperative working relationships and to coordinate activities with other departments especially with professional staff and a diverse and changing student body. · Must have proven capability to drive exceptional customer practice and results through team development. · capability to diplomatically manage multiple commitments to students, staff, and operations. · Must be able to work and meet expectations in a high-touch, high-volume, fast-paced and dynamic work environment. · Must have excellent verbal and written expertise. Command of English grammar and syntax is integral to communicate effectively. · Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and student information systems. · capability to communicate effectively with diverse and changing student body and with professional staff.
