Job Summary
The Traffic Manager I prepares everyday traffic and automation logs for WGCU-FM, its HD multicast stations, and connected digital web streams.

WGCU is Southwest Florida's source for PBS and NPR. A member-supported service of Florida Gulf Coast University, WGCU provides educational programming that inspires, informs and engages our community. Serving all or part of 12 counties in south and Southwest Florida, with five distinct digital TV channels, two FM radio channels, two HD radio channels, and multiple websites, WGCU delivers national and international programming, and develops, produces and delivers significant, informative and educational local programs to the region.

Job Description

Typical tasks may include but are not limited to:

• Distributes production schedules or work orders to departments.
• Reviews documents, such as production schedules, work orders, or staffing tables, to determine personnel or material requirements and priorities.
• Manages radio inventory database system to ensure sponsorship spots are scheduled properly and as ordered to ensure fulfillment of financial commitments. Report on any discrepancies and makegoods on a everyday basis to ensure goals are met.
• Work with the traffic software system to meet industry and station standards related to category and client separation, fair rotations, and best use of unsold inventory for impact, continuity, and overall sound.
• Creates the everyday traffic and automation logs for WGCU-FM, its HD multicast stations, and connected digital web streams.
• Collaborates with sales, production, and finance departments to resolve problems.
• Clarifies, diagnoses, reports and provides resolutions to resolve internal and external technical problems.
• Provide reports related to inventory management, financial projections, and category and daypart revenues.

Other tasks:

• Performs other job-related tasks as assigned.
• Assists and provides backup for the Television Traffic Manager.

Additional Job Description

Required Appropriate qualifications:

• This position requires a high school diploma and two years of full-time practice directly related to the job functions.
• Full-time practice in radio and/or television traffic.
• practice operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel,
• Access, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook).
• Any appropriate combination of significant education, practice, and/or certifications may be considered.

Preferred Appropriate qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Communication, Broadcasting, or closely related field.
• Previous practice utilizing public radio and television content delivery systems.
• expertise of Adobe Audition or audio editing software.
• expertise of ProTrack, Wide Orbit, Marketron, or equivalent broadcast traffic software.

• expertise of television traffic and programming operating systems and workflows.
