Position DetailsPosition InformationPosting Number: 2022139 Classification Title: Position Title: Instructor FTE: 1 FLSA: income: commensurate Job Summary/Basic Function: About this function: Provides academic and practicum instruction within the School of Nursing. Plans, coordinates, and conducts classroom and practicum practices for students. Participates in academic activities appropriate to the Instructor rank. Reports to the Associate Director for Undergraduate Nursing Studies, and/or Associate Director for Graduate Nursing Studies, on curriculum and course issues (e.g., students, practicum), and reports to the Director of the School of Nursing on all other issues (e.g., personnel, assignments). What You'll Do - Position Job responsibilities: » Teaches students in the practicum, laboratory and classroom settings. » Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of School of Nursing, program, course, and student activities. » Participates School of Nursing committees and in other activities connected with professional status. » Incorporates new expertise and techniques in practicum, classroom, and laboratory teaching. » Assumes responsibility for the planning and organization of courses to which assigned. » Maintains academic standards as established by the School of Nursing, College, and University. » Assists in developing reports required for the operation of the School of Nursing. » Plans professional development activities for self, such as continuing education offerings, workshops, professional meetings, etc. Key Competencies: » Effective teaching skills. » Effective verbal/written communication skills. » consciousness of current issues/trends in nursing. » Effective interpersonal and organizational skills. Physical Requirements: Able to lift 25 lbs and be able to execute a variety of physical tasks including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, stair climbing and walking between buildings.
