Situated within Academic Affairs, this office reports directly to Student Academic Success under Learner Operations. Job tasks The Advisor will provide academic success services, academic coaching, and comprehensive advisement support for an assigned group of students. Position will track and respond to Starfish alerts for assigned students . Student Services (60%) » Provides academic success services for an assigned group of students. » Delivers comprehensive advisement support services to an assigned group of students. » Provides academic coaching services through one-on-one meetings with students. » Collaborates with other units on campus to ensure students are receiving services. » Tracks and responds to Starfish alerts for assigned students. » Conducts or supports delivery of student seminars for program participants. » Reviews student progress and tracks student use of academic support services. Outreach, Recruitment, and Campus Programming (30%) » Supports recruitment of new students into the program. » Conducts regular outreach to faculty and other college staff as needed to support student success. » Organizes periodic special events and programs for students, faculty and staff. » Works collaboratively with Transfer Admissions staff and Orientation. Grant Research and Oversight (10%) » Maintains accurate tracking data and notes for each assigned student. » Makes recommendations to improve program offerings. » Participates in the TrACE committee to share information and assist in monitoring progress across participating units. » Follows specifications of research grant. This position is contingent upon available funding. Minimum Education/practice Master's degree; or will accept in substitution a bachelor's degree and 2 years of significant practice. License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation None Preferred practice, expertise, Training/Education Strong knowledge of the needs and challenges facing transfer or non-traditional students. Demonstrated capability to work independently and as part of a team, within the department, with faculty, staff, and other administrators. Strong organization, project management, communication, and facilitation expertise. capability to maintain accurate and detailed records of student activities. Computer expertise, particularly Microsoft Office (Access and Excel) and Google Suites; and aptitude to lgain new systems as needed.
