Scheidt School of Music beginning August 2025. Teaching tasks include undergraduate general music courses, and other courses as determined by the School of Music. Musicians with all types of commercial music practice, especially voice, piano, music technology and business, are encouraged to apply. Current enrollment is approximately 21,000 students. The Lambuth Campus is located in Jackson, TN about 80 miles from the main campus and has an enrollment of approximately 1,000 students. The Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music is fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music and has a full-time faculty of 44 with approximately 430 music majors. Degree programs include: Bachelor of Music in performance, music history, composition, music education, music business, recording technology, jazz and studio music performance, jazz and studio music composition/arranging; Master of Music in performance, musicology, Orff-Schulwerk, music education, pedagogy, jazz and studio music, composition and conducting; Doctor of Philosophy in musicology and music education; Doctor of Musical Arts in performance, composition, and conducting. The Music and Entertainment concentration is a satellite of the Commercial Music department at the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music. Students in this concentration gain a Bachelor of Arts in Music. Information technology is a program fusing general music studies, music business, music technology, and performance practices together.
