Min Hourly Rate $14.70 (Standard); $13.70 (Non-Urban); $15.95 (Portland Metro) Max Hourly Rate $21.00 (Standard); $20.50 (Non-Urban); $21.50 (Portland Metro) Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill up to three Ecohydrology Undergraduate adjunct positions (average 10 hours/week, a maximum of 24 hours per week during the academic year). This position is located at the Oregon State University-Cascades (OSU-Cascades) campus in Bend, Oregon. This position includes assisting Dr. Herzog with ecohydrology research projects and may include a combination of field work (e.g., surveying riparian zones, collecting water measurements), lab work (e.g., soil core analyses), and computer work (e.g., data management, planning experiments, technical writing). Field sites may be 1-4 hours away and involve hiking through rugged terrain. The appointment is expected to last approximately 4 months from the appointment begin date, but may be extended located on availcapability of funding. This position is a limited duration appointment for the purpose of assisting with ecohydrology field work in Central Oregon and nearby locations. Position tasks 50% Field Work » Assist the PI and survey team leader with collecting data and conducting field surveys » Collect and record accurate field data » Communicate proactively and professionally with partner agencies, nonprofits, and landowners » Survey locations using GPS » Hike through remote and rugged terrain » Make minor equipment repairs 25% Lab Work » Soil core analyses and similar » Prepare and maintain equipment 25% Office Work » Compile and understand information from scientific literature, media, and local experts » Plan experiments with assistance and supervision » Manage field data, including proper data entry and data storage » Produce concise technical reports including summaries of data, findings, and lessons learned.
