Preferred QualificationsAt least one year of community college teaching practice is preferred. Industry-recognized certifications applicable toinformation technology such as A+, Network+, and Security+ certifications preferred. practice in Artificial Intelligence ispreferred.
Position DescriptionUnder the direction of the Dean of Business and Applied Technologies, serves as an instructor in the InformationTechnology Curriculum and serves as an advisor to students.Essential tasks: Plan and deliver accessible, high-quality instruction that enhances learning and promotes students' knowledge ofcourse results. Instruct 18-20 contact hours per contracted semester, in either curriculum, non-curriculum, or business and industry;prepare objectives, assignments, assessments, instructional and supplemental materials, grading standards, andattendance policies; develop, maintain course syllabi; ensure the learning practices align with program andstudent learning results for the course. Create an inclusive learning environment ensuring all students have equitable access to education. Ensure availcapability for all students by maintaining established office hours, offering availcapability by appointment, and/orresponding to electronic communications appropriately and promptly. Maintain, complete, and submit accurate and timely documentation of student attendance and grades as indicated byinstitutional policy and procedures. Assist students to make informed decisions by disseminating accurate, quality academic/career information andadvising about policies, procedures, educational pathways, and/or transfer requirements from community colleges,universities, and the workforce. Facilitate students' knowledge of the importance of transferable (soft) expertise and their crucial function in achievingcollege and workplace success. Employ a proactive advising model to encourage student success, foster progression, and promote the completion ofcredentials utilizing the identified Student Success and Engagement software. Contribute to curriculum development by creating new courses and updating existing course content and studentlearning results; offer recommendations for course textbooks, supplies, software, and equipment; provide inputinto developing the program's course sequence and schedule. Engage in the institutional effectiveness process and college- and state-wide initiatives, such as program review,grants, the College's Strategic Plan, and Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges(SACSCOC). Demonstrate proficiency in student learning results assessment, including aligning learning practices withidentified results, conducting assessments to measure results, and analyzing resulting data to enhance studentlearning. Foster a collaborative and team-located work environment, demonstrating a strong commitment willing to follow tasksthrough to completion. Collaborate with other divisions and departments to align comprehensive credit and non-credit courses andprograms where appropriate.Champion the College's retention, progression, completion, and inclusion initiatives, ensuring social and economic success for all learners. Support the College's mission, vision, and core values by adhering to all policies and procedures. Knowledge, expertise, and Abilities: Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, in settings with people from diverse backgrounds,educational levels, and age groups while exhibiting the capability to maintain the confidentiality of communications. Cultivate and sustain collaborative relationships with colleagues, students, and community stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel, significant computer applications, and Internet platforms. Display expertise in planning, organizing, and implementing new initiatives, programs, and services; certify quality throughtracking and assessment while effectively managing time and resources, meeting deadlines, and paying attention todetails. Perform complex tasks, prioritize multiple projects, manage interruptions, and demonstrate the capability to workindependently without supervision. Knowledge and practical capability in student/career and workforce development while knowledge the significance offostering a learner-centered environment. Comprehensive knowledge of the entire student practice, encompassing coaching, mentoring, academic/careeradvising, student/career services, and academic progression and completion. Practice high ethical standards and preserve confidentiality when dealing with sensitive data and information. Demonstrate a commitment to an all inclusive learning environment and workplace.
